I had ressies for six nights in January at Wildnerness Lodge (courtyard view) using a AP Code. A little while ago I modified it. I now have the first four nights Courtyard view at WL (asked for 4th or 5th floor with a good frontal view of the lake--not on the wings). We're spending the last two nights in a Savanna view at Animal Kingdom Lodge (asked for 3rd or 4th floor facing into the circle of Arusha Savanna in the 3rd building from the end of the Zebra Trail--in the middle). I used the AP Code again and got a really good rate ($149.00/night for the Courtyard view at WL and $151.00/night for the Savanna view at AKL. Good choice? or should I have just stayed at the WL for the entire trip? I know that when I check out at the WL, I just need to ask them to transfer my luggage over the the AKL and then just show up later at the AKL to check in, but how long should it take? Will the AKL already have our luggage in the new room?
Will it be uncomfortable asking the CMs at the WL to transfer our luggage to another hotel?Last edited by aubriee; 11-17-2004 at 11:32 AM. |

Re: AKL and WL--Good Choice or Not?
I think you made a great choice (I'm green with envy, lol) I know WL is wonderfull, but AKL looks great too, and now you get to experience both lodges on one vacation!! I don't think its a hastle to have your luggage moved, from what I have heared anyway. I hope you have fun <{:o)

My brother loves AKL. He'd applaud your choice.

Re: AKL and WL--Good Choice or Not?
If you have no problems changing resorts during your stay, yeah. I've stayed at both and enjoyed both. You'll also notice that both resorts bear a resemblence to each other in the lobby. That's because they share the same architect, along with the Grand Californian at Disneyland. You really can't go wrong with any of the deluxe resorts.

Re: AKL and WL--Good Choice or Not?
Most likely the luggage won't be in your room, but you will be able to just call down to bell services for it. The length of time it takes for your check in depends on the line at the front desk. It will be like you had just arrived at WDW. Make sure to tell bell services at WL about the luggage transfer the night before. They will tell you what time they will be up in the morning to pick it up. At least, that is how it worked for us when we switched resorts mid trip.
