If we are staying at one Disney resort can you use facilities at another?
Such as: We are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins, can I use the Fitness Center or pool at Wilderness Lodge? What about the child care center if we eat dinner at WL? If any one can give me some pointers or advice, any will be apriciated. This is our first time staying on site and we're very excited. It's me, DH, DD(4),DS(2) and my mom(?)! This is my mom's 1st time 'doing Disney' and I'm very excited for her. Like I mentioned, we are staying at the cabins at Fort Wilderness. This is such a great forum. Everyone seems so helpful to one another. Thanks, pixie1098 |

Re: Can you do this?
No, you are not allowed to pool hop. There is one expection to that rule. If you are staying at a Disney Vacation Club, you can pool hop to any other resort, with the exception of the Beach/Yacht Club. Having said that, we always pool hop when staying at a DVC resort, but we have never been asked for ID or anything. It has become a bit more difficult to hop, since they ask for ID when entering any resort.
You can use the child care center at any deluxe resort. Make sure you make that reservation the same time you make your dinner reservation. Welcome to DisneyCentral!

Re: Can you do this?
If you stay at CBR, you are allowed to go to any of the village pools or to the main pool at Old Port Royale, no matter which village you are staying at. (as long as it is a CBR pool and you're staying at CBR, you can swim there.) If my memory is correct, CBR has 9 swimming pools including the hot tub.

Actually, I think it's a good idea in a post 9-11 world.

Re: Can you do this?
It looked like you really wouldn't have a problem hoping over to the pool at the Contemporary last month. I think the pool you'd have the most problem at would be Stormalong Bay at the Yacht/Beach. It might also help having the marina and pool together, there's non-hotel traffic you can get lost in. Me, hey, I don't even have time for the pool at my own resort, let alone find time to hop.

Re: Can you do this?
In my case we first drove to the All Star Resorts. There was a single security booth for all three resorts that required ID. Once past that booth no one asked for ID (everyone just assumed we were resort guests).
The same thing happened driving to Wilderness Lodge and Disney Boardwalk. When we visited different resorts using Disney's transportation, we weren't asked for ID at all. It was just driving into the resorts.

Re: Can you do this?
Everytime that we go to WDW, we always go for "tours" of other hotels. I like to go to the gift shops etc. I know that usually when driving into a resort you need to show your room card/ID, but they don't really "look" at it. I know that poop hopping etc is not allowed-perse, but no one has ever asked where we are staying at and to leave. We go the the Polynesian to use the little boats, watch the water fireworks etc, and I've never had a problem. I guess some people likely pack up for the day and go to a resort with bigger or nicer pools, but we've never done that. Once I used the pool at the Wildreness lodge while DH used the little boats-that's about the worst!
