Polynesian question.....

I read on here somewhere that one of you stayed at the Polynesian for $199 a night. How did you get such a great price and how can I get that? We are considering staying there for our August 2006 vacation. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: Polynesian question.....

That was most likely an annual passholder or FL resident rate during value season.BTW,welcome to DC!!!! The avatar of your boys is really cute.

Re: Polynesian question.....

Darn! That sounded to good to be true.....LOL! Thanks anyway though!!

I have AAA, is their discount just as good as codes or are the codes a better rate? Sometimes I get a postcard in the mail with a code on it but it's only been for Value Resorts. Do they have codes for the Deluxe resorts? We plan on booking in January. Thanks again.

Re: Polynesian question.....

The AAA discount ranges from 20% at the values and moderates to 10% at the deluxe hotels. Typically, general public discounts are about a 35% to 40% discount, and are about $5 more per night than the AP discounts (the room costs more, the discount isn't more). Watch those postcards, they usually are good for all hotels, not just values. They may give the value resorts as an example, but they can be used anywhere there is availability.

Your boys are beautiful! That's a great avatar. I wish I knew more about AAA so I could help you, but I don't. Just keep your eyes and ears open on this site and mousesavers like Susan suggested. Sometimes good deals come out...

Re: Polynesian question.....

Thanks guys!

I've never gone during value season before, but I heard you have a better chance of getting a good deal during that time. We usually go during Easter when it's peak season and they don't AAA discount for that week. How are the August crowds anyway? We've gone in June and July (stayed off site) and it was just as crowded as Easter. I'm hoping August will be better. Thanks again.

Re: Polynesian question.....

It was me! We received a post card with $199 Poly rate in mid-July ( on the phone 15 mins later) there were a lot other hotels at equeally good rates.

No idea why we got the card. We go every other year. Have stayed @ POFQ the last time (12/02) Did a OKW via E-Bay 1/04

If anyone knows why we got the post card we are very interested.

Have both a Disney Card and a Bank 1 card.

Our last name was spelled wrong on the post card

That's all I can say

Re: Polynesian question.....

I've got a Disney Visa card too. But the postcard was sent to my Mom's house under my maiden name and I never even lived in the house my parents live in now. They moved after I got married and I bought the house I grew up in. So I've been living in this house my whole life and the codes came to my Mom's. My Disney Visa and all my other disney stuff is always sent here under my married name. That was really strange. Now that I plan on going, I won't get one. LOL!!

Re: Polynesian question.....

Mommy2boys, I got the AKL in January Savannah view for $164 a night by booking a with a code that was posted on mousesavers.com. I recommend you keep an eye on that website. I also have AAA and the Disney Visa, but I'm not an AP holder or a FL resident.
