Buses between Resorts
Forgive me, I'm usually pretty good with bus situation stuff...However I have a question that hopefully someone can answer.
I have friends who I have given a stay at the Boardwalk for an early Christmas present. I made them ps's at the California Grill. What is the best way to get to the Contemporary from the Boardwalk? My thought was to grab a bus from the Boardwalk to the TTC and then the monorail to the Contemporary. However, I wasn't sure there WAS a bus that went to the TTC from the Boardwalk. Does anyone know? ![]()

Re: Buses between Resorts
Well, it depends.
No buses go to the TTC. But, option #1 would be to get on an MK bus and walk to the Contemporary (5 minutes). Walking is actually shorter timewise than taking the MR. Option #2 would be to walk to/take a boat to Epcot, walk through Epcot to the MR station and take the MR to the TTC and change over to the resorts MR. This would be a longer trip, but, IMO, much more fun. Option #3. Take a cab. I'm actually half-serious about this. Using the buses between resorts is kind of a pain in the tail. But in this particular instance, I think the best way would be option #1.It really will depend on how much time they have and what kind of tickets they have. If this is for the first night and they only have Park Hoppers, then option #2 would be a waste of a day on the PH. Does this help?

Re: Buses between Resorts
Thanks Matt. Yeah I ended up calling the Boardwalk and they said the best option was option #1. Thanks a whole bunch!

Re: Buses between Resorts
you have to allow at least an hour to travel between resorts. Case in point:last March I stayed at PC. I had a ps at Boma in AKL for 8 pm. I left my room right after the CBS news ended. It was a 3-minute walk to the bus stop at PC. I entered the AKL at 7:51 pm because I had to take the bus to Downtown Disney and switch to the AKL bus. There really should be a better way to travel from resort to resort. That said,I was very lucky on the return trip,as there were only 2 of us in the bus from AKL to DD,and I asked the driver if he could just drop me off at PC,and since the other passenger didn't mind,he did just that.

Re: Buses between Resorts
Alma:
Thanks for this post. We're meeting my aunt and uncle at Jiko for dinner one of the nights we're staying at PC. I want to get to AKL in time for any choirs that will likely be singing there that evening. 50 minutes isn't bad, but we were thinking about taking a cab. I figure $15 would be worth saving 30 minutes. What do you think?

Re: Buses between Resorts
Your best option to get to the Conteporary from any other resort not on the monorail line is to grab the bus to MK and walk across the street to the Contempo. You could also do the monorail but by the time you walk from the bus stop to the monorail platform, you could have already made the walk. We got bit after dinner at Yachtsman's Steakhouse and had to cab back to the Contempo and it cost about $13 with tip. I would not suggest walking all the way through Epcot to get the monorail unless you want to walk, what, a mile? If you want to get to DD from Epcot, then youneed to walk to the south entrance and go to Yacht/Beach and grab a bus. There are no buses from the parks to DD and no buses from resort to resort. There are even times you WILL do better taking your car rather than try to do two or three transfers to get where you're going.

Re: Buses between Resorts
Personally, I rely heavily on Disney transportation. I know that a lot of time people want to get from A to B quickly, but if I needed to walk through Epcot, then I totally will!! Just my 2 cents

Re: Buses between Resorts
Here's a neat web-site that has a transportation grid. It doesn't give all of the options but it does give some ideas:

Definately take the cab. It will only take you 10minutes max to get there. Best $$ you ever spent. It cost $15 average for me to take a cab from the AKL to the polynesian and Epcot on my last trip while staying at the AKL. The PC is a little closer to AKL than the Polynesian, so it may be even less than that. Sometimes convienace and time saved is worth a few $$ that you normally wouldn't spend esecially in that scenerio.
