How long after Christmas do the decorations stay up?

I am going to WDW on January 20th and was wondering if the Christmas decorations will still be up? I am guessing they most likely take them down right after the new year but was hoping I might get lucky and see them during my trip. Anyone know what they have done in the past? Thanks

I have seen them up as late as the weekend after New Year's. Most likely they will be up until the 2nd or 3rd this year.

I usually start working on taking them down the day after Christmas. It takes me 3 or more days to take the stuff off our tree and dismantle it b/c it is so huge. I have left just the lights on it and left it up until after New Years just b/c I like to sit in the dark in the a.m. or at night w/ a cup of cocoa and stare at the tree.

We start putting them up on the 9th of December and start taking them down the day after Christmas.

We start with our tree and some lights and slowly (not all in one night over a week or two) put up other decorations and trim the tree. Then after Christmas we take down Christmas specific items first. By the end of the first week of January it is all packed up.

(We don't decorate the outside of our house. you?)

This will be the first tree for my DW and I....just got married in June. We are going tree hunting out here in the Colorado Rockies the weekend of Thanksgiving and we are planning on keeping up the tree until Jan2 or so. LOVE THE SMELL OF THE PINE!

We used to to WDW the day after Christmas for a week. all the decorations and holiday plants are wonderful.

Lately we we have going about week after Thanksgiving. All the holiday decorations are up and the crowds have tended to be smaller.

We were at All Star Sports a couple of years ago during the 2nd/3rd weeks in January, and they still had the Christmas stuff up there, so you might get lucky!

In 2001 we arrived January 5. The only thing still up at the parks was the Osborne Festival of Lights, but nothing was illuminated, just strands of wires being taken down.

I wouldn't count on Christmas decs on January 20 at Disney. That is unless my neighbors down the road take over Disney. They've had their lights up since November 4 and will probably have them up until May 1.

Do you live on my block? lol I have a neighbor who keeps them up until at least Easter. She says " I didn't do all that work to not enjoy it for as long as I can"....to each their own. The lights make our dark street look pretty.

We went last year on Monday January 4th and the only things up were the decorations at DTD the parks had been totally stipped of anything christmas....i asked a CM when they took them down and they said the weekend after new years....hope this helps!

I particularly like those people who decide in August that there's no point in taking them down if they're going back up in a few weeks.
