Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

As far as food court, there is one large food court with several different places in it that serve different types of food. They switch menus after breakfast. They also have an area with pastries, fruit, etc. There is a bar near the hippy dippy pool in the 60's section.

Be sure to take a walk around the resort and see all the different sections.

When we stayed there, PC had the best bus service in any area I have stayed in at WDW.

We stayed in the 70s section and had a short walk to the buses and Everything Pop(the central building with the game room, food court, and guest services).

My kids loved the Pop Jet section between the 70s and 60s.

Have a great time, we will be staying there again in June.

Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

I stayed in 70's also. I LOVED everything about it!! And I agree with wiseguy, definitely look around at everything! The only somewhat bad thing I can think of is that the AC shuts of automatically when you leave your room - I think it has a sensor on it. I didn't even notice it, but my dad keeps hotel rooms just above freezing, so it bugged him. Other than that, PC is GREAT - definitely my new favorite hotel. And my dad's too. :)

Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

We stayed at a hotel in Japan that had a similar AC unit. You needed to put your plastic key into a wall unit to start the unit running, which basically was a hole in the wall where cool air drifted in. Me being the Ugly American who hates heat (it was 98 and humid there) requested a second key, and kept it in the wall. My excuse was that TINK0368 was pregnant at the time.
Looking forward to PC!!!

Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

No, there is currently only one food court. You have to remember that when we say PC that includes PC The Legendary Years and The Classic Years. The Ledgendary Years is the part that is open now. When The Classic Years opens it will be just like POR and POFQ, but PC will have seperate bus service for both resorts. When you pull into PC look on your right and you will see the outer shell of The Classic Years. The story behind PC is rather sad and depressing. It was under construction on 9/11 and with a decrease in tourism Disney halted the project. Then decided to open The Legendary Years, which has been a huge success. I expcect to see Disney open The Classic Years within the next few years.

As far as tips. Take advantage of the quiet pools. They are off to the side (near the "wings"), and I didn't even know the exsisted until I got back and posting more here on DC. The food court is great with a big selection, BUT it gets very, very crowded around the 7:30-9 AM hours and the 7-9PM hours. If you can hold off going for that late night snack until atleast 8:45PM you will be so much better off.

Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

We were at PC last christmas and enjoyed it so much we are going back in 8 days!! My family also likes it very cold in the room and were a little annoyed by the auto ac but it did cool down quickly once we got back to the room. Yes we even run the ac in the winter - although WDW can get warm in Dec too. Alot of people decorate the windows of their room, some very elaborate. We stayed in the Preferred Building - '60's - and were very close to the food court, buses and main pool. I also think it is a great idea to take a walk around the grounds, there are some really neat signs with interesting facts about each decade. It was also neat to go across Generation Gap Bridge and see the Classic Years buildings.
Have a great time.

Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

ooops I forgot the best part! They left a towel animal in our room!! It was the first time I'd seen one of those. I thought they only did it in the fancier hotels, so it was a nice surprise. I love all Disney's little touches!

Re: Any Last minute things abot PC

Just thinking about the hotel makes me happy! I really wanted to stay at the AS movies for the boys sake, but I think that the PC is going to be awesome-and we love just walking around to see everything too
