Does anyone know of any discounts available for December 2004? My aunt was just telling me that she went to the WDW website and looked at the Contemporary for 2 tower rooms (6 adults) for 12/26-1/1, and it was over $10000. I know that it's the most expensive time of year, and it's short notice, but I assured her that my fellow DCers would help me find something better for her. I checked mousesavers, and the 2004 discount goes to 12/25, and the next one starts on 1/2/05. Is there anything available during that time for AAA, disney visa, APs, etc??? Any help would be appreciated.

I do not know of any. However, I suggest that you e-mail Keith at www.mouseketrips.com and ask. Keith is the lead mouse at a wonderful Disney-only travel agency. If there is a discount, he'll know.

FYI - it cost you nothing to use their services.

That is holiday week and I would be absolutely surprised if there were any discounts at all offered.

Honestly, I am surprised you even found rooms. Historically, there are never any discounts between Christmas and New Years, including AAA or anything else. The rooms sell out without discounts.

Too bad you weren't checking earlier this year. There were discounts through Christmas Day. So, if you had started on Christmas Day, you could have gotten the discount through the entire stay. The FL resident and AP discounts are still available through Christmas Day, but whether you could find a room or not is another story all together.

Two rooms 6 days, in the tower? That price sounds like way more than even 14th floor concierrge. It might be one of the suites in the Garden Wings.

i ditto what mickey said...all the discounts that i know about have passed....try a moderate or even a value...youll get a better price

Thanks for all the insights so far. I looked into it today, and there were actually 2 tower rooms available, with no discounts for about $8500. But, there was discount availability at the Boardwalk, for 2 rooms, for about $3500. I'm trying to convince my aunt of that one. In my opinion, the resort is so much more beautiful and you can't beat the location. She just wants the Contemp. for nostaligic reasons, she has never even seen the boardwalk, but I think the deal can't be beat for such short notice for that time of year. $5K savings is a no brainer! Tell your aunt you just couldn't swing the Contemporary. Tell her how much you'll save. Give her a $1K diamond bracelet with your savings. Make PSs for California Grill and Chef Mickey's so you hang out at the Contemporary. With those savings, you could take the whole family parasailing from Sammy Duval's. If I were in your position (and I almost was last month) I'd take the other deluxe resort and pocket the change.

Definetly go for Boardwalk. 3500 for that time of year is a great price.

Oh, if it was up to me, I would. I was researching the reservation for my aunt. She is looking to go with my uncle, 2 cousins, and their sig. others. I will not be attending this trip But, my aunt was looking into contemp (her fav. resort), and I told her DC would probably help me find a better deal than what she had...turns out it happens to be at BW, but it might be a hard sell. Especially to someone who has never seen the resort. I'm trying to convince her to take the reservation while she can still get it.

Wow, I cant imagine spending that much money on just the room. We spent less than that for our family of 5 to spend 10 days at POR this summer including passes,airfare,food,etc. Do you think that rich aunt would adopt me??LOL

LOL, that is my favorite part of that movie.

But, back to this thread - Soundgod is so right. If your aunt (who should really adopt me) really wants to go at Christmas, she is going to have to decide one way or the other right now.
