first timer questions on in park resorts!

2 Adults in late 30's 2 grandparents in early 60's, and 8 yr DD and 6 yr DS.
What moderately priced Resort??? Either going in late Dec. or late Feb.
leaning toward CBR or BW Lake Buena Vista. Stepping up to AKL looks interesting too. I know I can't go wrong with any moderate resort, but what would be the ultimate for the 2 kids....
Oh yeah, One day will be spent at SeaWorld.

There is still plenty available for the week before Christmas.
toying with the Idea of staying with the kids at the AKL
and having the Grandparents stay at the CBR.

Welcome to DC!!! You will need two rooms at any resort obviously, so it depends on budget. If you want to go deluxe, go for two adjoining at AKL...they have bunkbeds for the kidos too. If you want to save a few $$, go with PO FQ...very intimate and nice.

Re: first timer questions on in park resorts!

Welcome to DC. There are great deals available right now for January through February. If you can go in January, there are very little crowds, and the prices are great.

AKL is great, but a little remote. I think you really would like Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter, or even Caribbean Beach. Nice rooms, nice pools and a good location. If you want to move up, I would suggest the Wilderness Lodge.

Just remember that the discounts for next year expire this week, so you would need to act soon.

Re: first timer questions on in park resorts!

I've never stayed there, but I keep hearing amazing things about Wilderness Lodge! We also really like Caribbean Beach Resort (big rooms!) and our fave of all time is Port Orleans Riverside. I would think it is especially good forthe grandparents, and the kids will love them all! Have a wonderful trip!

Welcome to DC!!!

I am assuming that you know that at moderate resorts you can only fit four to a room.

Re: first timer questions on in park resorts!

I'm glad to hear that the resorts aren't booked up. I had been reading, that the parks were expected to be busier than usual this Dec.

Re: first timer questions on in park resorts!

We stayed at AKL when we were first timers. It was awsome for the kids. Yes, it is more intimate and slower paced, which is what we prefer seeing the parks can get so "busy". Your kids will love being in the swimming pool, and looking up to see giraffes watching them!

We've stayed at CBR last year, but are heading back to AKL in February. Enjoy your trip. You will love AKL.

Re: first timer questions on in park resorts!

Welcome to DC!

We've stayed at CBR and absolutely love it!!! There is so much to do for everyone. From laying in a hammock, playing on the beach, all the pools, lake activities, paths and close to all the parks. Huge resort but a lot of fun.

Hope you have a great time. Have fun planning!!
