Icon11 where sould we stay?

I have booked a room for me, husband, 5 yr old daughter & 2 yr old son @ Coronado for $107 a night (2/5/05-2/12/05) is this a good deal or could I get something better. I would stay at any moderate or deluxe hotel on Disney property. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

First welcome to DC! If you have any doubts go to mousesavers.com, if you want to see any pics of the resorts go to allearsnet.com.

I think that coronado for $107 a night is pretty good.

Re: where sould we stay?

That sounds like a good price! I would try to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, the rooms are a little bit bigger and I really liked the atmosphere. Coronado Springs is a convention hotel so it may not be as kid-friendly as the other resorts.

Re: where sould we stay?

This will be our third trip & we have stayed at Dixie Landing & CBR in the past. My goal (probably like most of us!) is to try & stay at every resort!! Just thought that since my son is so young, I would splurge on the deluxe hotels when he is older & can appreciate them more. I've gone to all of the other "disney" web sites & have a ton of info, but I don't understand how you apply those codes once you've booked your room. Any info would help.

Re: where sould we stay?

I love love love Coronado!!! $107 is a decent price -- check Mousesavers to be sure there aren't any general public discounts right now, though. Other than that, I think all you'd have would be annual pass discounts.

Anyway, this is a fantastic resort, and I'm glad to answer any questions you may have about it. Good luck with your decision!

Re: where sould we stay?

And you can apply the codes by calling Disney reservations, having them call up your reservation number, and giving them the code. It's that easy! They'll look to see if any rooms are still available under that code, and if there are, they'll apply the rate to your room!

Re: where sould we stay?

We also have a similar goal, livcammom- we are now done with the mods. My kids loved Coronado (they were 3 and 8). It is large, so I suggest a room in building 8 or 9, I believe.

Re: where sould we stay?

I don't think it's a great deal. You can get the Caribbean Beach for around $80/night. Again check for a discount code at www.mousesavers.com

Re: where sould we stay?

$107 is a decent rate for a moderate but like everyone says above you could quite possibly find a better rate at mousesavers.com. My personal preference is that CSR is a great resort with themeing but I think it is just way too large especially if you have small children. My personal favorite for moderate resorts is going to be the PO Riverside. The themeing is excellent and quite a few of the buildings are close to the main lobby with the stores and food outlets. Also have a really nice pool and quite a bit of shade. This is just my personal opinion though and I'm sure some will have differing opinions, you honestly can't go wrong with any Disney resort in my opinion whether it is Value or Home Away from Home. Have a great time!

Re: where sould we stay?

We stay at the CSR all the time, and just love it. Infact, we visited Disney 3 times this year, and have stayed at the CSR all 3 times. DH and I just love it there. Going back in May 2005, and have booked the CSR again, just having a problem with getting all the nights I need.
If you have an AP you could probably do alot better than $107. Good luck!! JOANN

Thankyou all so much for your input!!! The last time we went we stayed @ Dixie Landings so I think this is going to be a good change for us at the CSR. Since I've heard that its so big any suggestions on what building to request? And how do you go about requesting?

Re: where sould we stay?

If you have a special requests, you need to fax it to the resort about a week to 2 weeks prior to your arrival. You are not necessarily guaranteed your "requests", but they will try to accomodate you as best they can.

We stayed at CBR and requested Jamaica, Aruba or Trinidad N., we got Jamaica and loved it.

Re: where sould we stay?

I would suggest the Casitas building 3

IT's closest to the main building and buststop.

It's far from the main pool, but it will be cold then anyway.
It's close to one of the quiet pools.
