Looking for advice on Polynesian Longhouses

Hi,

We are staying at Disney for the first time ever (both husband and I) and we are looking for advice on which longhouse to request. We will be in a garden view room and would like to be reasonably close to the monorail. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Looking for advice on Polynesian Longhouses

Here is a great link to info on the Poly:

http://www.tikiman2001.homestead.com/

We stayed at the Poly a few years ago and we were in Figi on the 3rd floor facing the marina. We had a balcony with a great view for a graden room. We were over the marina, could see the contamporary and the monorail as it exited the Contemporary in the distance. The building is close to the Great Ceremonial House and the Monorail.

Have fun!!!

Re: Looking for advice on Polynesian Longhouses

I really like the Tahiti longhouse. It isn't close the main building, but it is close the the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there, you can get a direct monorail to either the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. From the Poly, you take the resort monorarail that stops at the Grand Floridian on the way, and the Contemporary and Ticket and Transportation center on the way back. The rooms are a bit larger as well, though really, it isn't a big deal. It is also very quiet, away from the pools and the luau.

Re: Looking for advice on Polynesian Longhouses

I've only stayed in Samoa and Tokelau. I like Tokelau a little bit better, and it has a garden view. But Samoa has a soft spot in my heart, so I usually pick there.
lol, not much help, but....

I stayed in Tahiti on my last trip. It wasn't near the monorail, but it was quiet and near one of the pools.

Very back from Poly 12/11. We stay in the one that starts with an "A". Closes to main building not a great garden view.

(BTW - love the Bumble avatar!)

We stayed in Tokelau last spring. Pretty nice and right by the quiet pool. It's also kind of in between the Great Ceremonial House and the TTC. We thought it was convenient.

Thanks Dana but I'm arriving right after you

Hi Dana,

Thanks for offering your opinion, but I'm arriving with family on January 30th.
We will be attending a wedding in Florida the 28th. If my husband brings his laptop, I'll access this disneycentral forum from there. Thanks!!

We liked Samoa. We had a great view of the volcano pool and a bit of the GF. Also it was near the GCH , beach and quiet pool. I would love to go back!!!

Thanks aecox!

Bumble - the volcano pool is one of my favorites. When we stay there, we usually try to get closer to the Lagoon view.
