Taxi or Mears shuttle from Disney to Universal

I'm going to Disney in August 23. I will be staying at All Star Movies. Is there transportation that I can get from that Hotel to Universal. Or can I order a cab that will pick me up and take me there. I was thinking about calling the Mears and see what that offer if anything.

When DH and I were there 8 yrs. ago, we had a Mears van pick us up at Dixie Landings(Now PO Riverside) and take us to Universal. We got picked up and brought back to our hotel. We had to call Mears 24 hrs. in advance and let them know what time we wanted to be picked up at the hotel and then what time we wanted to be picked up at Universal. Back then it was about $30 for both of us roundtrip, I'm not sure what it would be now. It may be cheaper than a cab but I am not sure. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure of the exact cost, but I know Tiffany TC is reasonable for a roundtrip from a Disney resort to Universal. Plus, you don't have to tell them ahead of time when you want to get picked up, you call them 1/2 before your ready to leave, so that's nice.

PLUS, it's a towncar instead of a shuttle which means the only stop is yours!

I'm using them for transportation to and from the airport and it will cost me $80 total. They will stop at a grocery store for us on the way to the resort for us to buy water, munchies, etc. That alone is worth it for me! :D

I am also using Tiffany Town Car to pick me up at airport and take me to hotel. It is cheaper than Mears if you have more than 2 or 3 people, plus I hear it is alot nicer and less waiting. I agree with Renee, call them about Universal. I didn't think about them when I posted previously because I wasn't sure if they just did airport transportation or not.

We used Mears 4 times. Calling them was no problem as the phones in the Disney Resorts have a direct dial Mears button. They arrived on time each morning to pick us up. The round trip fee was $12 per person in April this year however I was told the first time I called it would be $24 and the driver happily accepted this.

Generally I would say they were reasonably good but you do have to call from the park a couple of hours in advance of when you want to be picked up and sometimes we found the buses did not arrive on time to collect us (One time it didn't arrive at all and we had to wait 50 minutes until they sent a taxi for us)

If there are a lot of you it would probably be cheaper to get a taxi as you won't be paying per person.
