Ok, after reading everyones postings about WDW trans. vs. rental cars, I'm beginning to rethink our strategy. Maybe we might not rent two cars (substantially cheaper than 1 mini-van!!) but take a shuttle service to the parks. We don't plan on leaving WDW once we get there anyway. And we could save some cash. We are 4 adults and 2 small children.

How do airport shuttles/limos work with small children that need car seats? I'm a car seat FANATIC and have two kids who still require them (older is in a booster). I will be bringing one for my smaller child to fly in which converts into a booster for the older once we land and was going to rent a regular car seat for the younger kid at the rental car company so we would have two seats with us for driving. If we don't use a rental car, what do the limos/shuttles do for small kids? I'm not very comfortable letting my kids ride in any vehicles without car seats (FLA law or not - mommy has her own laws!!). :nervous

Call Tiffany at 1-888-838-2161 and ask about the car seats. And ask how much it will cost for your family. I'm pretty sure they will have the car seats for your kids. Plus it alot cheaper than renting the two cars. They will pick you up at the arrival door and take you directly to your hotel. And pick you and drop you off right at the departure area. They are great. You didn't say where you were staying on property but we haven't had to rent a car now for 4 years and we haven't had any problems.

We used Tiffany Towncar this past year and they had a booster seat for my 4yo.

Thanks for the tips. I'm glad that Tiffany has car seats available. I'm just not comfortable letting my kids ride without even if its "just once." this may be the way we go!!!

Just for the record we are staying at the Villas at WL.

When I reserved with Tiffany Towncar I sent an e-mail to them requesting information about carseats. The reservations manager responded and said that with the vans, the driver generally has 1 carseat and 1 booster seat in the vehicle. When I explained that we had two 4 year olds traveling with us, she told me that she would make sure that there were 2 booster seats in the van. They were very accommodating and seemed very happy to help!!! Good luck!!

Make sure to ask... IIRC, there is a wonky Florida law about not requiring car seats in public transportation - and the various shuttle services (limos, Mears, etc...) qualify as 'public transportation.'

The Disney busses do not have car seats. The seats are hard plastic and do not have seat belts. I was riding on one a few trips ago, a mom had her DD standing in a seat beside her so she could look out the window. They were sitting in the sideways seats right behind the driver. The bus driver got caught by a yellow light and had to hit the brakes hard to stop. The little girl (she was 2 or 3) fell down, I don't think it hurt her just scared her. The thing I had a problem with is the bus driver just asked how she was, he did not even get up and look to see if she was ok. No apology or anything. :devil Yes I know the mother should not have let her stand up, but the little girl did not want to miss anything. :)
