rookie question for me

Stupid question I am sure, but I am going to throw caution to the wind and ask it anyway....(no laughing or snickers please..lol)

If for some horrible reason it decides to *really* snow on the day I depart and planes are grounded, what are my options? Am I able to reschedule with WDW? Am I totally beat and lose the time?

With the plane tickets, yes. I am not sure about the room....I'll have to PM mickey. He's my agent and I can't remember. I got a room only with an AP discount...sheesh. I sware I am going senile at 31.

Give WDW a call. I know when we use to book on-line that questioned was always ask direct from WDW. Call you never know...

Mickey would definetly be the one to ask, since he booked your reservation. I have a feeling that when you arrive to our resort, you will probably be told you will have to eat the costs, but after haggling with Disney they will be well what I would call "Disney-like" and give your money back.

Dana ~ I'm glad you asked ~ I was wondering the same thing! Since we've nothing planned for the day were are taking off, I'm only worried about the house. I'm going to give them a call about that in the morning.

Disney was very generous with hurricane refunds and changes of plans,so I am sure that they would refund you if there was a documented grounding of planes where you are to fly out of.

We were held up due to a hurricane one year and I call that day and they credit me with the cost of the room. They will gladly rebbok to get that cost back, the problem is that the airline will not rebook the return date if you have an discount advance ticket. If you paid the normal fare there is no problem with rebooking your flight.

The one and only time I didn't book a non stop flight, we got stuck in Atlanta due to a storm. I called WDW from the airport and they credited me that night with no problem. I don't know about the airline doing anything to change a return date...never had to do that.

Thanks all for your responces. I am doing the "sunshine dance" until the trip and praying for the best of weather. I don't want to have to deal with any messes with refunds or rebooking (who would?).

With a room only reservation, you should be able to move it no problem. You are just going to want to let your TA know as soon as possible, and if you can't contact them for some reason, call Disney directly.

Packages are a little more sticky, but Disney understands delays, and is usually willing to work with you.
