How Strict are room requirements

I am interested in taking my DH's kids to disney and utilizing the new magic your way plan. My DD has an AP and is 4yo. How strict is Disney on there room requirements? My kids are 10, 8, and 4. It would be all five of us, but she would not have to have tickets because of her pass. Would we run into trouble, or could I book a magic your way for everyone at a value resort and kinda hide her? Just a thought...we will not be in the room much anyway...Trying to save a little money and prevent having to get two rooms. Thanks for your help!!

Re: How Strict are room requirements

Ooh, that might be tough. Technically, everyone in the room has to be on the same plan, and having 5 in a value room wouldn't be worth the extra money saved anyways. I think you might be able to get away with it, but if you get caught, you will have to book another room at full price, and pay for a ticket for her (that depends on who catches you). Were you wanting to get the meal plan, or just the room and park passes? Is she the only one with an AP?

Yes, she is the only one with the annual pass...grandparents got it for our trip in Feb. We would be using the dining plan for everyone but her...i just planned on paying cash for her meals and was hoping this might work. I know the rooms are small, but we manage at home in a really small space and only one bathroom

Re: How Strict are room requirements

Which resort are you staying at? I would recommend any of the All-Stars in this instance, because they are very spread out,so there is less chance of CMs seeing you all together. Also, try to have just 4 suitcases visible in the room so Mousekeeping will not have reason to suspect you. Put smaller suitcases in bigger ones. Also, when you check in,do not have your whole family together. I think one drawback might be if your hiding your DD,she won't receive a room key,so you won't be able to take advantage of early entry, but on the other hand, they rarely ask to see all room keys. Also,if on the mealplan and you want to eat at the food court in your hotel, don't all go in the same time,or present your vouchers(I assume they'll be vouchers)at the same register.

Yes, a four your old needs a room key--it is your resort ID while staying at a WDW resort. If you plan to do any early entry or after park hours your four year old needs a resort ID. IDs are checked sometimes to get through the gate at Early Entry time. You may be fine as long as you don't want to do any of the extended hours at any of the parks.

Re: How Strict are room requirements

If you haven't activated the AP yet, you might, maybe, want to consider activating it at a time when the rest of the family have some sort of passes as well. I know it doesn't save money this trip, but eventually it would even out. This is only a suggestion.

Re: How Strict are room requirements

Soundgod, my parents are FL residents and they bought her the pass for our trip in Feb. They are taking us both to Disney for 6 days and I can't wait. I think if I waited to turn it in I would not be able to get the FL resident discount that they are getting for her. I know when they called Disney to ask if they could purchase the AP for her they said yes, but told my mom she could not purchase one for me. Also, I don't know if this matters, but it is a seasonal pass. I also don't believe we will go back anytime soon after this vacation. Heck its only taken us 10 years to get the oldest to Disney!!

Re: How Strict are room requirements

here's what i would do, but this is only my opinion. I would leave her off the room reservation and not get her a key card. If you go to early entry morning you simply flash your keycards and in you go. For the evening extra hours you need to show a key to get a wristband. I'm not sure if you would be able to get one for her if she doesn't have a key. My one daughter did not have a key card last time and there was no trouble getting her into the morning hours. Since they didn't have evening hours then I don't know if it would be that easy. When you go to get the wristbands you could just say "she is with us". I doubt if they would question you too much since she is only 4. NOw if you were trying to say other adults were "with you" I can see that they would not allow that. Good luck,I'm sure it will all work out.

Re: How Strict are room requirements

I may make many people angry but on another thread somebody wanted to buy CM tickets and everybody jumped on him for being wrong. But here is a thread trying to help someone else to work around the rules. I think in both cases it's wrong to try to "bend" the rules.
