moderate for kids??

I am taking my wife and 2 girls (ages 8 & 11) to Disney World for the first time! We are going the last week in June for 7 nights.
MY question is this:

We are going to stay in a moderate resort, but can't decide which one. What is everyone's opinion on the best moderate resort for kids this age?

Re: moderate for kids??

I vote Caribbean Beach Resort. When I was that age, that would have appealed to me most out of the 4. New Orleans, "Dixie" and the Mexican Southwest would have all been like...BLEEECCCHHH!!!

But that's just my opinion.

P.S. WELCOME TO DC!!!! ::passing hugs onto you!::

I vote POR. The pool is great and your kids will love the piano bar!

We have two children also- ages 9 & 12. We have stayed at CBR 3 times and our kids loved it. They love the main pool and they also love the quiet pools. The resort is big but not over crowded. The food court, restaurant, store, and game room is all in one building and the main pool is right outside. We suggest either Aruba or Jamaica for buildings (I believe buildings 51 or 52). They are just a short walk from the main building (Old Port Royale) and you travel over a quaint bridge with Calypso music playing. Very relaxing!! We have also stayed at POR and did not like it as much. The main pool area etc. seems much more spread out. As a matter of fact, last year we stayed at BC because we figured we'd try someting different. Our children missed CBR and so did we. I think it is what you get use to. We found with our children it was a very safe and relaxing atmosphere that we were all able to figure out easily. Good Luck and let me know how you do.

Re: moderate for kids??

First, welcome to DC. There is such a wealth of knowledge from the greatest people here.

Our choice is CBR (Caribbean Beach Resort). We've stayed there twice (once on our 10th wedding anniversary and last year was our DS', 8yo, first trip) and we are going back this May. We stayed in Jamaica, building 41, last year and absolutely loved it. The bus stop was right across the parking lot, although we used our rental car most of the time. The island pool was right around the corner and OPR was about a 5 minute walk. The main pool at OPR is a lot of fun with the water canons, fountains and slide. The food court as a pretty good variety for everyone. One tip, buy the refillable mugs, they do save a bit of money. The theming is beautiful too. Be sure to request a ground floor room, as there are no elevators and stairways are limited.

If you choose CBR, you will definately love it.

Have fun planning.

Re: moderate for kids??

My kids preferred the pool at POR better than the one at CBR because it is bigger and longer. There are also quiet pools at POR. I liked CBR better but the kids voted for POR.

Re: moderate for kids??

We've been to both POR and CSR and liked CSR a lot. The main pool was very cool, the food court was great, and the theme was amazing. We will be staying at CBR this May, so maybe our opinions will change.

Welcome to DC
