Interesting Room Request News

Read at Mouseplanet.com:

We have been informed that the Disney resorts have been told to no longer accept any room requests that are phoned or faxed in directly to the resort. To have a request met, it should be noted on your room reservation. If you made your reservation through the Disney Reservations Center, call them to have your request noted. If your reservation was made through a travel agent, the request should go through your agent.

Re: Interesting Room Request News

That makes a lot of sense to me, actually -- I can only imagine what it would be like to juggle requests from so many sources! And they are so good about fulfilling requests whenever possible! It can only make that easier!

Re: Interesting Room Request News

Well, it was only to be expected. They've been saying for a couple years or longer that faxing requests would soon not be accepted. I made sure when I booked that I mentioned everything I wanted considered. When we stayed at CSR I had requested a certain building, and they put us somewhere else entirely, but I had also stated that I had arthritis and wanted something close to the bus stops. The room they gave was perfect, a corner room about thirty feet from the bus stop. So they paid attention!

Re: Interesting Room Request News

How does this idea play into the preffered location rooms- and what are the best rooms for PC?

Re: Interesting Room Request News

This is very odd. When we stayed at PC at Christmas, we didn't get even close to the room location we requested by going through the channels they suggest. In fact, we got a location that we said we didn't want at all. When working with the CM at check in to get the rooms changed, he gave me a card with the resort number on it and said next time to call the resort directly with room location requests. Whatever! We always expect to spend some time at check in getting the rooms we requested at booking time because we never get anything close to our request. Sigh

Re: Interesting Room Request News

I totally understand this, they can't possibly meet every request they get. With the Internet more and more people have learned about faxing in room requests and I am sure the volume has increased over the last 5 years. I book the view I want and from there I take what I get, I am just happy to be at WDW.

Re: Interesting Room Request News

Ooh...I am pretty sure I sent my requests to Mouseketrips but sent an e-mail to confirm. Well that is one thing I'll have to cross off my "To Do" list.

It kinda makes sense. It must be so hectic trying to place guests where they want to be everyday, along with trying to check everyone in.

The best rooms in PC are the 70's A. They are closest to the bus stops, and Everything Pop.

Back on topic, I completely understand this move. I mean they must be inundated with faxes.

Re: Interesting Room Request News

Just spoke to a GREAT CM...at the reservation center. I asked if I could do a room request at POFQ...I wanted a room close to the main building...she was great, told me I'd love bldg #4 and added that to my reservation. We had already requested a non-smoking room and she confirmed that as well.

Don't know if I'll get bldg #4 at check-in, but we'll see!

Re: Interesting Room Request News

What's your building/room recommendation at CBR with 2 kids? First time there. Would like to be near main pool, food, and definitely bus stop.

I happen to think Jamaica is the best location at CBR. It does cost a little more to book a room there but if location is important it's worth it.
