How much are y'all paying?

Can I be so bold as to ask everyone if they are paying the regular Disney prices for resorts? I mean the ones on the website... is there a way to get the prices down? I would love to stay at a deluxe, but I know I don't want to pay $300 (or more!) a night for a regular room ... can it get cheaper???

Re: How much are y'all paying?

We aren't going until end of Nov/first of Dec so right now we are booked at rack rates. So yes that means over $300 per night for the deluxe resorts. But with fingers crossed a few months before our trip we will be able to land a discount code. If not, we have saved up enough to pay full price and not just buy as many souvinears.

This our only vacation we plan each year. DH and I don't exchange Christmas gifts or Anniversary gifts and count this as our gifts to each other. It takes all year to save up for it but its so worth it.

Re: How much are y'all paying?

This is the reason why we have APs! The resort rates are pretty good! Although it may change this year. We have never paid rack rates. We have stayed at deluxe resorts for very resonable prices.

Re: How much are y'all paying?

AAA gets a 20% discount on packages- worth looking into- the money you save also gets you a membership and that is a good thing to have- They have a certain number of cheap rooms avail to them so call early!! I have a 1-800# for the agent that has been working for me - she knows a lot at this point since I have driven her nuts! She booked our trip for all 18 of us. Let me know if you want it-

Right now AAA, maybe AP's, and maybe FL resident is the only way you will see any sort of discount. No word on any discounts comming in the near future.

Re: How much are y'all paying?

We are working our upcoming trip through Mousketrips (link at top of DC homepage). We are also AAA members, so Mousketrips is applying that dioscount, along with any others they find to our trip price. I had never worked with them before, but so far, it is great.

Mousketrips keeps abreast of all the WDW discounts and if they find one after you have already booked, they automatically re-book you at the new lower price.

I am working with Keith at Mousketrips and am very pleased. We have our rooms at PC and Poly booked, along with park passes, etc. All this for four people for May 15-23.

Re: How much are y'all paying?

Hey! I think I know of a Keith at Mouseketrips, and he sounds great!

OK, thanks everybody! I hope this thread keeps going with everyone's tips. I really want to find out about APs, too... what about the prices for that? What is the break-even point? I mean, is it worth buying APs if you are only planning a one-week trip? Do you need to have a couple of trips planned to make it worth it?

We used to be Disney Club members -- the best deal in the world! I still keep my Disney Club member card in my wallet! It offered great resort prices and shopping discounts!

You should check out Mousesavers.com from time to time. They always list all available discounts.

Re: How much are y'all paying?

We went in December(18th-21st) and got a room at POFQ for $79 a night(I used a code to get it for $89 then saw a military discount code on mousesavers.com which brought it down to $79 a night..I just called back w/ the new code and they changed my rate)

You can book now and keep you eye out for a code. If a code comes out to lower your rate, you can call back and they will apply the new rate IF it applies to the resort you are already booked at.

Re: How much are y'all paying?

Yeah, and Disney's policy on cacellation is very liberal, so if you book a Deluxe and can't afford that without the codes, and they don't come then you can cancel the Deluxe and change it to a Moderate or a Value.

I got that postcard, too. It's a great rate for the value resorts.
