palmtrees.

It is hard to say. I know that the building of the new rides and rehab on the castle might still be going on or just finishing up when you get there. It just depends on how long it takes.

They want to make sure that everything is in place for the 50th celebration starting on May 5th.

BDavis932,

You are right. I am going on the first trip in 24 days to go while it's not so crowded and to take in the new stuff that has been added since 2001. The May trip is to see all the new attractions that have been added for DL 50th celebreation. This way I get the best of both worlds.

Goofy 2005,

I sure will. Instead of comming in on Friday, I decided I would come in on Saturday instead. I know it is one less day at WDW for this trip. However, it allows me to take off the entire Memorial Day week and use the weekends to my advantage. This way I can take a 9 day trip to WDW in May instead of just a 4 or 5 day.

We have been a before during this week in the past and it isn't bad at all....you should be able to accomplish a lot during your May trip. Also, take advantage of the night time extra magic hours and make Priority seatings for a few meals.

BDavid932,

I have no clue how priority seating works. The last time I went Feb 2001, and I stayed off site. The resort had such bad transportation hours to and from the hotel, I had to be back at the hotel at 5 pm since that was the last van that left for the day. To say that I am making up for lost time and a very bad experience would be an understatement.

What hotel are you staying at? Have you mentioned it before? Thanks!

Goofy 2005,

Last time I stayed at Hampton Inn in Kissimmee Florida because I knew no better. Everyone talked about this Disney magic and when I went Feb 2001 because of where I stayed, there really didn't seem to be to much magic going on.

That was before I found disneycentral. And thanks to you guys, this time around I got a nice AP rate and will be staying at CBR-Standard. I got the room for $116 a night with tax compared with $166.14 a night with tax and no discount.

That is a good price! AP rates are so fun, spend more on special things!

A Priority Seating (aka PS) is "like" a reservation. Most PS's can be made 90 days ahead of time. Here is a link to a calculator and PS website that will help you with your planning: www.pscalculator.net Then click on "PS calculator" on the left hand side.

Also, check out all the menus (and prices!) here: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm This will help you narrow down which ones you will want to eat at. Most PS's don't require a credit card, so if you don't show up, no problem. For the ones that require a credit card # (which are very few) make sure you don't miss it, or you will be charged.

We like to have one PS per day, usually for supper. We eat breakfast in our room, and then usually do counter service for lunch and then a nice sit down or character meal for supper.

Goofy 2005,

With the $450 savings from the room, I have my AP paid off already, and that is before my second trip in May.

BDavis932,

I wonder how it would look for a guy going solo to WDW to make a reservation at a Character meal.
