Rethinking doing WDW Feb/March due to the rehab that is going on for the DL 50th

Thanks everyone for helping push me in the right direction.

As some of you already know I have decided not to go in Sept and instead add those vacation days onto my May trip. This way, I can still go in Febuary and still see what I have missed in the last 4 years, and still see all the new attractions that WDW will have for DL 50th in May.

Hey Magickingdom05 -- I know there is a lot of rehabbing going on. But please trust me when I say there is enough magic at WDW that some rehabbing is not going to spoil your fun! I know there have been a lot of posts about this on DC lately -- but there have also been a lot of posts from people who would LOVE to be at WDW even with some scaffolding! You WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! I am pretty sure I can promise it!

I am sure I will. I guess I am just disapointed that there will be some things I won't beable to see.

However since this is my first trip back since Feb 2001, I hear that there are lots of things that will be open that I never saw 4 years ago. Plus I am going back in May for a short 5 day trip, so I guess I could just hit the new things that will be there since I was at WDW 2 months earlier.

The nice thing about Feb from what I hear is that it's usually the slow time of the year so I will get to see and do lots of things, maybe some twice that I might not beable to in May.

Now if I decided not to take the third trip in Sept and only do two this year, I could add those couple of vacation day's onto the May trip and go longer.

First of all, welcome to DC.

I say go now and enjoy what you can. I know it seems like a lot of attractions are closed for rehab but it isn't 1/4 of the attractions. If you are going back in a few months you can pick up the few things that were down and redo your favorite ones then. Any time you go something is going to be down, that's just the way it works.

WDW is so big that you won't be able to see everything in one trip, no matter how hard you try. We just relax and do what hits us and fit in as much as we can knowing we won't do all of it.

The weather is better now, it's cooler and it rains less now than in June. Also, the crowds are probably going to be worse in June with schools getting out.

I decided I would keep it to just two trips to WDW this year. Yeah I know how am I going to manage with only two WDW trips this year.

All Done.

I just switched my dates online with the airlines and I am now going Feb 26-March 7 and May 28-June 5. This way I get the best of both worlds. A slower time of the year at WDW in Feb and I will beable to stay longer in May and see all the new things.

If it were me I would just go now and see all the new things that you haven't seen in 2001, spend lots of time in the parks, etc, and then when you go back in May you can hit all of the new things and take pictures with the castle.

I can only imagine the new things that they have done in the last 4 years since the last time I was there. For example, Mission: SPACE wasn't even built yet when I was there last time. They had the sigh for it but it said something like Fall 2002 or 2003 or something like that.
