Late nights at the resorts...

Ok. I know I ask alot of monorail related questions, but hello, look at the name

Anyways. I was wondering. The resorts that have outside monorail loading platforms, (GF & Poly) Do they lock the entrence/exit doors that lead out to the platform after the monorails stop running for the night?

I ask because I know that the "barn" can not hold all 12 monorails, it only holds 10. And I have seen pics of the extra 2 being parked at different locations, like GF, or inside the Contemporary and even at the MK station.

So if they park the monorails at the hotels, how do they keep guest away from then through out the night?

And while we're on this subject. Do they close the "monorail" doors at the Contemporay at night? If so does anyone have pics?

Thanks

I have a feeling that at the GF and Poly the doors do get locked at night. At the Contemp I have a feeling they close off the stairway to the station. Does the Contemporary even have doors for the monorail?? I didn't know that.

Re: Late nights at the resorts...

I saw the monorail parked at the GF station a couple of weeks ago and the doors to the dock were locked.

Ciao,
Alfredo

I know they have "storm" doors they close during huricanes and such. I just wasn't sure of they had normal doors to close to help climate control during the night.

Re: Late nights at the resorts...

The doors for the monorail beam at the Contemporary are only closed for extreme conditions such as the recent Florida hurricanes. At night the air doors continue to run to adjust the climate accordingly. In addition they have a metal gate that shuts off the monorail loading platform from the 4th Floor Grand Canyon Concourse. Next time we have hurricanes in Florida I'll see if I'm still at the Contemporary and getting pictures for you. Most CM's didn't even know that the doors existed until my manager and I walked the main tower during Hurricane Charley and saw them shut.
