Where To Stay????

I need help........ first we were going to WDW for 2 weeks (23rd Dec to 6th Jan) This was going to cost us over £5000 ( $9000) this inculded £1600 xmas flight supplements!!! We have since found out that if we fly on 16th Dec the are no extra sups. therefore if we stay another week at wdw it shound not cost us anymore We are going to buy APs but now we are stuck as where to stay! The orginal plan was first night in ASMo the next 9 nights at AKL with 4 nights AKL concierge (wedding anniversary ) Now we have 3 weeks and are not sure what to do........ any ideas would be great.

Thanks
Kerry

Re: Where To Stay????

3 weeks how great! How many in your party?

If it is less than 5 I would probably have to say stay at the values for the trip because it can be very expensive to stay that long and it is still Disney!

Or stay in a moderate instead of changing to a deluxe!

Re: Where To Stay????

We have 2 DD's (13 and 9) and the two of us! The girls don't do sharing a bed very well so much so last year at PC DH had to get the connecting room after the first night just to give us all some peace! So seperate beds for the girls would be the best way.

Depending on what your budget is,

The best value for the money is Pop Century!
It's new(compared to others), Value and clean and the staff is professional
We have a long stay as well on Property so we split 1/2 at Pop Century 60's bldg and a Moderate resort, alternating between Poly or PO Riverside.
If you do PO and you rent bikes/or love the boat rentals, get the "captains plan" it's not advertised alot* and you can rent the pontoon boats/reg bikes/water sprites/ as long as you want for the one price at the Marina for your length of stay for like 225.00 including taxes. The bikes with the canopies aren't included-they are owned by a private company other than Disney.
Whatever accomodations you choose, have fun and enjoy!

If you want off property, try onlinehotels.com
they have great prices for off property, usually near Universal or MGM areas.

Have a great time!

Boy - does that sound familiar! Three weeks is a long time at WDW - will you have a car? if so, would you consider taking a break and staying off-site for a few days? you can get some great deals on timeshares in Orlando and many are very beautiful.

Re: Where To Stay????

How about Wilderness Lodge? It is the least expensive deluxe and you can request bunk beds for your girls. It is close to the Magic Kingdom and a boat ride from the monorail at the Contemporary.

I agree with DT on this one. The bunks would work out great. The AKL has bunk rooms too.

Re: Where To Stay????

At the moment we are looking at two rooms at PC for 1 week then 1 week at WL and 1 week at AKL (both with bunk beds).

What do you all think?

We will be getting APs (as we are planning to come back in July 2006 already!! ) so hopefully some discounts will be available but this will not effect our choice.

Re: Where To Stay????

We're going with a big group of family & friends in May. 4 families are DVC, 2 are not...they have made their ressies at POR. From what I understand, the rooms have 2 Queen sized beds (compared to full size at the values) AND you can get a trundle bed without a charge. (The waived fee just started). Plus if you're getting AP's, hopefully there will be a discount out there for you.
Hope that helps when weighing out your options.

BTW...3 weeks!!! AND at Christmas time! I'm so jealous!! Have a wonderful trip!!

Re: Where To Stay????

We are also going for 3 weeks at Christmas, but we will spend 4 days at Universal Studios at the Royal Pacific Resort. We will be staying at AS Movies and AS Sports while at Disney and then head over to Universal for a few days. I think you will enjoy changing resorts and having a different one each week. I have heard so many wonderful things about AKL and Wilderness Lodge. I am sure you will love it.
