Room Reservations (can anyone help me?)

Hey guys- I made room reservations back in October on a "Winter Room Rate Package" for 352 for four nights. Now, when I got the confirmation letter a week or so later, it stated, "Package total: 352." So, me and my two friends split the cost amongst ourselves, making it 117 each.

Last night I was on disneyworld.com, and I was playing around with "my disney vacation." So I type in my reservations number thinking I would check to make sure the balance was only 117 left (one friend and I have paid for ours). When I got there it said, "Package total: 397." It had all the right payments- but now the hotel has gone up by 45 bucks. Now, we had called two weeks before this and had asked for a first floor room (my one friend has a disability), *BUT* when we got the new confirmation letter (same confirmation number) it said, "Package total: 352."

So I called Disney this morning, and they told me that the 352 was my total without tax. But what I don't understand is, why it doesn't say that *ANYWHERE* on my confirmation letter. Plus, when we made our reservation, the guy said to me, "352 is your total with tax." So if I had never checked the internet- they mean to tell me that I was going to pay off the 352 (which my friend was planning on doing before we leave) and then get down to Florida, where we'd be thinking we're squared away, only to have them go, "Oh no- just kidding- you still owe us 45 dollars."

Something about this just doesn't seem right to me. I've never had this problem with Disney reservations before. (And I'm usually a pro at this- considering I've been down there like 30 some odd times.) My mom said that she could remember when we stayed at CB sometime ago, that when she got her letter, she paid the total off before we left and paid nothing when we got there.

Any ideas that anyone can give me would be great! I'm kinda upset and I'm wondering why this all of the sudden just came up. None of us really seem to care, cause we'll pay it- it's only 15 bucks extra for each of us- but that 15 bucks easily could have been another meal or gift. What should I do?

$15 bucks is $15 bucks...I don't think you are making a big deal out of nothing. I would pay what is left on your confirmation letter. Bring that confirmation letter with you at check-in. They can't charge you more than that. Keep all proof of payments etc. Perhaps there is a mistake or a glitch in the program??? I woudl go with the amount on the actual letter and not pay attention to the internet amount. You have hard copy proof (the confirmation letter) of what you are suppose to pay. I am willing to bet, that if you show them that letter and the proof you paid that "amount due" then you will not be asked to pay the extra amount.

Re: Room Reservations (can anyone help me?)

That happened at our check in last week. They charged us for another night and at the time I didn't question it, however, after looking at my confimation letter I realized I had paid all of my bill. It took me several CM's and a supervisor to get my 50$$ back but they did return it. Who knows why it happened, but the supervisor did help. Just make sure you take the letter with you!

Re: Room Reservations (can anyone help me?)

The same thing happened to me at POR last month. MY reservation had been paid in full and when I got there they told me I owed $138. The CM first said that they were charging me for my extra child, then she said they were charging me for a trundle bed, but none of those charges equaled $138. It turns out that they were charging me $94/nite instead of the $79/nite AP rate. It took a manager to straighten it out but it kind of annoyed me that my account didn't say paid in full because it was!

Re: Room Reservations (can anyone help me?)

Karliebug- I can't believe they tried that! We're wondering if that's what happened to us- they've changed the rate! Or we're being overcharged for three adults in the room (which they told us they wouldn't charge us extra for!!). So I think we've determined that we're just going to pay it off. Then when we get down there, play stupid, and flip out when we get overcharged. Thing is though, I have to be careful- cause I am a CM (and hopefully will be employed full-time in Orlando after graduation) and I don't want to cause a scene! But I didn't make this reservation on my CM discount because I didn't even have my ID yet and we wanted to start getting things settled!

Anyways- thanks everyone for your advice- I was a little stressed out yesterday- but I feel better about it today. Here's a for everyone who helped me.

You don't have to flip out to get your point across. You can simply be "surprised" at the charge. You don't want to jeapordize you employment. Just take the paper down and pay the rest off. Show them the confirmation and that's that. Ask for a manager if it doesn't get resolved down there, but don't flip out. You will never get anywhere doing that.

Good, Good advice!!!PVHNAT, as a WDW cast member, you know that Pixie Dust ALWAYS works better than being cranky. Put on that big Disney CM smile, and everything will work out!!

Re: Room Reservations (can anyone help me?)

If you do the math...it appears your rate changed by $10/night. Maybe since you requested a first floor room and mentioned your friend's disability, somehow you got moved to a preferred building? I would call before hand and get this straightened out instead of maybe having the hassle of dealing with a supervisor when you arrive.

Re: Room Reservations (can anyone help me?)

We called and they told us it was the tax. We seem to think they've now realized we have three adults in our room. I think we're going to call again tonight.
