What is the best way to deal with back to back reservations at one resort?

Hi,

I'm staying a total of 11 nights at WDW starting Friday, but am not sure what to do about my back to back reservation. Since they can only make an AP reservation for max of 10 nights, they had to do one 10 night and one 1 night. I was told that I might have to move for the last night. In you experience will they really move me or will the try to accomidate my situation.

Re: What is the best way to deal with two reservations at one resort?

I went in 2003. We booked one night. Then 7 day. When I booked this way I was told the same thing. When we got to check in they were able to place us in a room that was empty for the full 8 days. Also we decided last min to stay and extra night. We were able to remain in the same room.

I haven't done this yet but we have to do it this summer with my inlaws room. The CM I spoke to said she would link our reservations together in hopes that we wouldn't have to move. She said it isn't a guarantee but it would help. I hope you get to keep the same room.

If you can, make your one night room only reservation first, so you have 1 night and then 10 nights. You should have no problem checking in for both on your first day since the resort will have both reservations.

we did three nights and then two nights in october (in order to take best advantage of a discount they were offering) and had no trouble at all...i'm sure they'll do all they can to accomodate you in the same room! I'm jealous...11 nights!!!!!!!

Re: What is the best way to deal with back to back reservations at one resort?

Allyson,

Yep 12 days/11 nights. When I started planning for this trip it was for 6 days/5 nights and kind of grow from there. This gives me more than enough time to see all 4 parks 2 twice and still have 4 days left over for resort time or to go back and try some stuff again.

Heck I figure that I'm paying $116 a night at CBR and while that is a good rate for peak season, I'm going to get all my money's worth out of my AP and resort stay.

We've done this many times (although all but once it was at the start of the trip, rather than the end of the trip) and we have never been moved. It's always worked out. Just remind them at check in, and maybe on your 7th day there.

They start making room assignments about 5 days ahead of time, so if you "remind them" on your 7th day, they can tag it in the system and hopefully they will not have a problem accomidating.

We did this at the Contemporary and the room was linked together. During checkin I went to mention it and the CM completed my sentence for me and said we wouldn't have to move but just come down in the morning to checkout and check back in and get new room keys.

Every time we do a major package vacation, we also book an extra day hotel only either as the first or last, and have stayed in the same room straight through. Experience tells me, if it's at all possible, they will allow you to have the same room for your entire stay.

We are doing the same thing. Kinda stinks that Magic Your Way really isn't your way.

Anyway, we also did this last year and it was our DS' (8yo) first trip. I wanted to make sure he saw almost everything, although we didn't. It was great because we could see the parks at our leisure. It was the best vacation we ever had!!!!

You will love CBR. Lots to do and close to EPCOT, MGM, TL and DTD. This will be our 3rd stay there this May.

Have a fantastic trip!!

I wouldn't worry about changing rooms...I'm sure it's just an 'in case' to cover their own behinds ;) We had two reservations on the week between Christmas and New Years, and the staff at Pop Century was very nice in making sure we got the same room. I wouldn't put much thought into it....

Re: What is the best way to deal with back to back reservations at one resort?

I may not be adding much, but here goes.

The reason they tell you that they may have to move you is because they can't control how many people will book between now and your actual stay. So, they tell you that so that you're prepared for the worst case scenario. Under most circumstances, you won't have to move.

IF you have to move on the last night, they will make it as seamless as possible. They'll move all your bags for you. Look at it this way: you won't have to pack on your last day, so you'll be able to get the most out of the last day.

I wouldn'y worry about it. More likely than not, you won't have to move.
