Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

POFQ beds weren't bad but the Pop Century beds were so uncomfortable to me.

So what resorts have you stayed at that the beds were really comfortable?

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

I liked the beds at AKL but I've heard the best are at the Swan and Dolphin. I have stayed at Westins and Sheratons before and love their Heavenly beds.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

We stayed at POR in January in the newly refurbished alligator bayou rooms. The beds were so-oo comfortable that I actually checked the matress tags for a brand name(but I couldn't find one). I would love to buy that type of mattress for home.

When we were at POR (just a week and some ago *looong sigh*) we had a king size bed. It was sooooo nice that we also looked for the tag. I told DH we WILL get one at home soon, BTW...it was made by Sealy

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

I am usually to tired to notice. Go to WDW with us is like spending a week in boot camp. We get up early run all day then fall into bed really late. I'm usually asleep before I hit the pillow.

Now this past summer we stayed at a Westin resort and spa in Tucson. Those mattresses, sheets, comforter where incredible. I didn't want to leave the bed it was sooooo nice. What was incredible to us was the catalog were you could buy the bed (mattresses, sheets, comforter and bed frame), chairs, fixtures, towels, soaps, etc. Just about everything in the room was available in the catalog.

How many of you would buy Disney stuff like this if they had a catalog?

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

We like the King size beds at POR.

I also agree that the "heavenly beds" at the Westons are the best. I have experienced them first hand at other resorts, and they are worth every penny, so I can only assume that the "heavenly beds" at Swan/Dolphin would be top of the line for WDW.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

Thanks for opinions so far! Bedding is a biggie when we stay somewhere so I was just curious about everyone's experiences at WDW Resorts.
We stayed in the Marriott or River street here in Savannah after DH's military ball and those beds were also heavenly. If I could have bought that bed, I would have! I slept like a baby all night and didn't want to get out of that bed..the bed, the pillows, the down comforter..ahhhh very cozy and relaxing.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

I never thought about this until this past January. I can usually sleep just about anywhere, but I found the beds at Saratoga Springs to be really uncomfortable. I remember thinking, how odd, for a brand new resort. The beds at BWV, BCV and OKW are all very good. Nice and firm.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

There is a Mariott in Savannah. That is cool. I grew up in Savannah and have not been back in a while. On 17 more days till St. Patricks day. Man I envy you.

As for the Heavenly beds. I would by one of these in a minute if I could get my hands on one. They are awecome. I would not have stayed at Swan or Dolphin but the beds might make it worth it.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

Cincy, if you go all the way down towards the waving girl statue it will be just beyond that..there is a TGIFriday's restaurant inside the hotel. It was here when we got here in 2001 so I am not sure how long it has been there..still looks very new though. They have a pool inside by the staircase..very neat and the hotel is very nice!

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

Is Spanky's still on river street? I have heard that they have developed the SC. side of the river. I thought that might be where you were refering to. The SC. side used to be nothing when we lived there.

Sorry to threadjack, now back to soft beds.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

I'm not sure if you are a DVC member or not but the beds in Old Key West are wonderful. I always hate staying anywhere other than here because I'm so fussy with my beds and how soft my pillows must be.(I must be a joy to have to sleep in the same room as!) Another great place is the Polynesian.

Re: Which resorts have really comfortable beds?

Spanky's is still there..I think the big Hotel on the SC side of the river is the Westin(travel channel has a show on it March 3rd at 11:30) There is a convention center over there now and on river street they built a whole new section right on the river side..more like an open air thing w/ vendors selling art/statues/African artifacts etc..really interesting stuff.

*ok back to beds now*
