Staying at WDW during the season change

I think it stinks that if your stay starts in the regular season and then changes to the value season, WDW doesn't adjust your room rate to the value season rate.
We're staying for 8 nights, 3 in regular season and 5 in value which is at least an extra $25.00 per night extra. That $125.00 would pay for several meals.
I guess I could book two different reservations but does that mean we'd have to move everything out of our room and possibly move to a different room later that same day??

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

Definitely book 2 reservations. You will have to check in and then check back out but probably won't have to change rooms. The savings is worth that small hassle. When you check in the first time, tell them you have continuing reservations and ask them to find you a room you can stay in. They should be able to do that for you.

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

I agree with Karliebug. Book the seperate reservations. A friend of mine was at Disney from Dec 28-Jan 9. She had 3 seperate reservations. She told them when she made the reservations and they "linked" them together. They did have to go and check in 3 seperate times, but it was worth it for her with the discount she ended up getting. They did NOT have to change rooms either!!!

Good luck!

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

$125 is well within my limits of being incovenienced, but then again I am cheap. I would gladly change rooms to save that much, although I can't imagine in Value season they would be that booked.

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

Thats strange. I booked last year and the first day on my trip was considered one season and the rest was a cheaper season (value I assume) and I got booked at the cheaper rate. I would take the chance of having to change rooms by booking 2 reservations to save money.

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

I am going to DW in July when seasons change. We made two reservations and I was told to just let the CM know at checkin that we had a continuous stay with two reservations and that we would most likely not have to change rooms. The savings was worth checking in twice.

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

We are having to do the same thing for our Nov/Dec trip this year. First night is Peak because of Thanksgiving and the rest of our stay isn't. We did the 2 reservations last year and didn't have any problems. But this year we decided to just stay a night at a different resort since I have never stayed anywhere besides Contemporary. I'm so excited to spend just 1 night in another resort!

Lauren ~ Boardwalk. It was a toss up between there and Beach Club so we let Dougie pick and he picked the clown pool :)

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

We also did the 2 ressie thing in October...no trouble at all. We were with a big group (4 rooms next to each other @ ASMo) and none of us had to change rooms!

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

However, if your res. starts in Value season, you get that rate for the whole time, even if it switches to reg. season while you're there. At least that is what I was told when asking questions for my trip next year.

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

I called and had our reservations changed into two but under one reservation number. It was a savings of $130.00 for a total savings of $400.00 with our AAA discount. Well with that savings and our Disney Visa rewards our food budget should be covered.

Re: Staying at WDW during the season change

I get to benefit from it the other way around. I check in during value season, and the very next day it changes to holiday season!! I am so glad I am able to take advantage of that!
