Take documentation for check-in at POFQ

Just got back from WDW where we stayed at POFQ. During both the check-in and check-out process, there were problems. At check-in, the computer didn't seem to have the correct information nor was it able to print out the room keys and we had to wait for about 30 minutes before those issues got straightened out. At check-out, those of us waiting started talking and I discoved that I was in a line of people who each had problems with their bill. I had booked months ago using the BDP code and had already paid for the rooms and park tickets. But, the computer was charging me at the current peak rate so I was being over-billed by a few hundred dollars. And the guy next to me was trying to reconcile a charge that was even larger!

The staff at POFQ was great. They worked through each situation and resolved everyone's problems. However, I was fortunate to have brought with me all of my receipts and print-outs from the WDW website that had my reservation information. If I hadn't had those items, it might have been more difficult to reconcile the problem. My sense is that either there was some sort of computer problem or someone wasn't familiar with codes when we checked-in. Either way, I would advise anyone going in the coming days or weeks to remember to take your receipts and documents just in case you find a similar problem. I did appreciate the efforts of the staff at POFQ to take the time to work things out...but be sure to double check your bill!

Thanks for the info, Rookie! I am an obsessive-compulsive receipt/confirmation saver, so I will make sure to continue being very careful. I know mix-ups like that can be really frustrating.

Re: Take documentation for check-in at POFQ

Just wanted to add that it is not just POFQ that has those types of problems. Seems like we almost always have some type of problem at check-in or check-out. It happened to us at All-Star Sports, Coronado Springs and again at POFQ. Now it is just something we come to expect <unfortunately>.

That IS unfortunate. Is this all recent? I was amazed with how easy check-in was for us at both the Poly & ASMo. They had all our information, including our room requests and we got exactly the rate/room we asked for.

Maybe that's because we always go off-season, in one of the absolute slowest times of the year? (September?) Or maybe just good luck...

Re: Take documentation for check-in at POFQ

Man, sounds like they were having some problems that day. We checked in POFQ in about 15 min and and into POP in 10 min. Both times we had automatic checkout w/ the final bill left on our door in the a.m. so we didn't have to go to the desk to check out..LOVE that!

Bummer you guys had problems though..hope things go better next time!

We had a similar problem at POR in January. I had paid in full at the AP rate but when we checked in I was told I owed another $188 . They were charging me the rack rate instead. I got it worked out after talking with a manager.

We had no problems when we stayed at CSR and had automatic check out. Hopefully our trip to POFQ on the 19th will go smoothly. Everything is paid for!!

Re: Take documentation for check-in at POFQ

I am sorry to hear about the complications, but am thrilled to hear the staff worked out everyone's issues and remained friendly and helpful. I always bring all paid in full information along with confirmations etc. That is smart traveling. Those without those papers are just asking for issues. Computers and people are harldy perfect and a simple paper can save everyone hassles.
