4 year old where??
OK everyone, I have to make up my mind and soon. Where do I stay with my 4 yo DD end of Sept. I have been leaning toward AKL to be close to the animals. But I keep hearing about staying on the monorail loop for the easy of getting to and fro. She is a red head who can have her moments of trantrums. What do I do?
I really wanna get mouseketrips on this asap. We are military so SOG is an option, but I think that may lose some of the magic and perks, like MYW packages, the disney extras, and getting away from the military..........yes we occasionally need a break from the green life. Add on: Can anyone link me to last sept hours so I can see what to expect?

Re: 4 year old where??
My DS is going to be 4 this trip, so we decided on an MK resort (WL). I just really like the idea of being close to the park he'll be most interested in.
I know how tough resort decision are! Good Luck!!

Re: 4 year old where??
I refuse to believe that that little angel kissing Tigger could ever have a temper tantrum. lol (of course, people believed the same thing about my little golden-haired angels
) There is no doubt that the monorail resorts are the most efficient for getting to MK and Epcot, but I think that sometimes too much is made of transportation problems at WDW. The AKL has their own buses and I think that the transportation is quite efficient. If you're planning on spending most of your time at MK, then I would go for a monorail resort. But outside of the MK and Epcot, you'll still have to take buses to MGM and AK. I would review all the resorts and see which one appeals to you most - if your dd loves animals, for instance, I wouldn't dismiss AKL, just because of the transportation issue. It's a fantastic resort.

Re: 4 year old where??
We will probably do 3 day MK, 2 days MGM, 1 day AK, we will skip epcot and our last day is to be determined. We may extend a few days to add sea world.........we get free passes this year.
Why is this such a hard decision.

Re: 4 year old where??
Okay, I know I am in the minority here, but...
We have stayed at the Poly (a monorail resort) and the Wilderness Lodge (not a monorail resort). I preferred the WL. The boat ride to MK was SO much easier than the monorail. The monorail loop for the resorts INCLUDES the TTC. That means at hours like early morning and closing - the monorail IS PACKED!!!! It was not easy and the end of the day....waiting in long lines and then trying to cram the stroller and 2 other kids in!! Not worth it to me. Just my 2 cents worth ![]() |

Re: 4 year old where??
We're staying at the WL this trip. We loved the Poly but to rich for this trip. Staying on the monorail has it's pluses and minuses. The ride back from the park at closing on the monorail is packed and long. But it still beats waiting in line for a bus.

http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/hours.html Also, in the past we have booked other resorts through SOG and received a really good military rate/discount. I'm not sure if they will only do this when they are full or anytime. If it is only when they are full, book the room you want and then in June or July try to book it through SOG as they will likely be booked up by then for Sep. You can then cancel your original reservation if you get a better rate through SOG. Hope that makes sense...

Re: 4 year old where??
We are staying at CBR again in October because DD LOVED it when she was 2. She loved feeding the ducks and fish off the bridge. We loved the wholeplace. The transportation was great! The busses were never a long wait (of course we went in early March so that may have a bearing on the busses)

Re: 4 year old where??
I love AKL and cannot say enough good things about it. Your 4 year old will love it there. The animals are such an experience. Definately try that resort out. Don't buy the hype with the transportation there. It's MORE than efficient.

I have stayed at the WL on my last 4 or 5 trips, and at park closing time there can be a pretty good line for the boat to the WL! I would still rather stay there than fight the busses or monorail though!

Re: 4 year old where??
I have to say that we love Wilderness Lodge--it is my favorite resort. The transportation is excellent--the boat ride to the MK is so nice. I like the size, only about 700 rooms so nothing is too far from any room.

Re: 4 year old where??
AKL and WL seem comparable in price, but it just seems that AKL will seem more like an adventure in Africa than just a regular outdoor trip that I can take anytime. Is there anything more specific that would make me lean towards WL, other than transportation, that makes them more kid friendly. Examples would be better playgrounds, pools, ect.
GRRRRRRRRR...........why is this decesion killing me.
