8pm PS at CG for Fireworks?

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask all of you for some comments about our PS time at the California Grill this May. We have an 8pm PS on Saturday the 28th, and I'm hoping this will be good timing to see the fireworks. I've always been a little confused, though, about figuring out when the fireworks begin, so any help you all can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
DT

Oops, I just realized that this is more a WDW restaurant question. Or is it Theme Parks?

(In any case, moderators, feel free to move this if necessary!)

With Wishes being at 10 pm, looks like you have picked the perfect PS time.

Re: 8pm PS at CG for Fireworks?

Thanks, DisneyTeacher, for the link with the fireworks schedule (I had only found opening and closing times), and thanks, BuzzLightyear, for the reassurance, although with the fireworks two hours after our seating time, I'm beginning to wonder if we won't be there a bit too early (or, we'll just have to eat s l o w l y !)

I have heard that they don't dim the lights anymore when the fireworks come on(but I could be wrong!!!)

Re: 8pm PS at CG for Fireworks?

Thanks for the info, mickaholic. That makes me think that it's all the more important to get next to a window. So perhaps we could arrive and ask to be seated at the first available window table. That way, we would probably be seated closer to 8:30, making the timing work out better. (This is for our 10th anniversary, and I want everything to be perfect. ) I haven't been there before, however, so I don't know how well this idea will work. What does everyone think?

Re: 8pm PS at CG for Fireworks?

We were at CG for our anniversary in October. Our PS was for 8:30 and the Not So Scary Halloween Party was scheduled that night. Those fireworks are always at 9:15ish. They did not pipe in the music, nor did they dim the lights, but we were told they only did that for Wishes. As long as your PS is before the show, you'll be able to hang out and use the observation deck. Also, remember that Illuminations is every night at 9:00, and is visable from the south side of the CG as well, even if there is no observation deck on that side.

You'll be fine. The deck is great and the entire staff knows that 99% of the patrons are timing their meals to catch the fireworks. They will do their best to make sure it works out for you. Happy Anniversary! (Same day as mine... 1989) PP
