WDW reservations codes during 2003??
Hello all,
This may be a bit premature but here it goes anyway............ My wife, kids and I are planning on going to WDW August 11-17, 2003. We have already booked rooms at the Dolphin Resort for a teacher rate of $129 per night. My question is this, when will Disney or have they already put out special codes or promotions for that time of the year? I am now contemplating staying at a resort located on the monorail system instead, being this is the kids first trip to WDW. (thought that might add and extra touch for them). Does anyone have any information about this? Mickey??

Hey disney1230! To my knowledge disney hasnt yet released discount codes for next summer. They usually do it as far as 6 monthes before the code expires. Its tough to say if there will be any good discounts for August becuase that is still summer break, and people just flock to disney one last time before school starts up agian. Also The Dolphin resort isnt owned by disney, so its discounts may be released at different times. I definitely recommend switching over to the monorail hotels. They are sooo convenient, and they have ALOT more disney charm. Discounts for those resorts can be found for the same rate you are paying for the dolphin!! I saw one for the animal kingdom lodge for 109 bucks a night!!! but it expired in nov. of this year
. lol. Well I hope this helped,Joe:)

I will be going to DW in Feb. I know the AAA rates for 2003 are now in Disney's system. The folks at CRO said the first internal discounts for 2003 may be offered in October- December '02.
I let them know I knew about the discount program offered through the DWD and that my intent was to stay during the Value season less than 3 weeks later. And I wanted a deeper discount along those lines. With that said they took my email adress so that if WDW site has any lower pricing due to a discount program in my favor they would notify me to call and get the lower price instead of cancelling and starting over. I went ahead booked using my AAA discount to get my preferred choice of cabin. I hope to actually get an email from them "helping me out" because that would be a real shocker! Needless to say I will be watching the internet for the same info and will crow the news on this site one way or another.

As Joe said, there are currently no discounts available for 2003, with the exception of the DisneyClub discounts, which are about 10%.
This year, there were discounts available through August 24th that were released on April 7th. There were also Annual Passholder discounts good through the end of September released on January 24th. The year before, 2001, there were discounts for most of August, and they were released in March. I would assume that the same thing will hold true for 2003 as happened in 2002. With the eventual opening of the Pop Century Resort, they are going to need to fill rooms somehow. I am not sure about being able to stay in one of the monorail resorts for around $129, but you could easily stay in Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge for that amount, if discounts are released, of course.

Somewhat along the same lines.... Are there any discounts for March/April 2003? We will be at AS Sports for 3/29-4/4. I know, peak season so I am thinking FAT CHANCE but it never hurts to ask.

Thank you for the information. I apologize if my thread indicated that I would switch resorts ONLY if the rates were around $129/night at any of the monorail hotels. I fully realize that rates are higher at the monorail resorts.
I was able to get a tower room at the CR during my visit this last August and if that were available for the CR or Pol resorts next August, I think that I would jump at those rates and switch.

OOPS,
I forgot to give the discount percentage for AAA for the Value season at Fort Wilderness Cabins. If my math shows right at its about 20%! I got a room for two nights at around 216.00 per night taxes included. That's not too shabby... Its a good start anyhow.. I think I will save $107.00 based on this discount for the two nights. Besides my AAA membership is only around $50 bucks a year. The folks at CRO say the same discounts are applied to the campsites. And rumor has it I may get an additional discount for my golf cart rental. (Its got a motor and wheels, right?) The Bike barn was most intrigued about the possibility and they said we'll talk about that when I get there. They said it does looks good for some extended rental hours for sure. Oh boy!

Phantom, agree on the AAA. Also booked in February and with a 6 night stay my AAA membership fee was basically more than paid for.
Now if deeper discounts come along in the process well.... I did ask about that on the phone myself. No offer to email, but I was told if something comes available I could call and if rooms were available at the discount rate I could cancel my current reservations and make new ones. Here's hoping.
