Icon5 Printing Out Boarding Passes?

Has anyone been able to get their SWA boarding passes printed out at the WDW hotels? It really would be helpful if there was a way to do this. We always bring the laptop with us. What we'd need is a place to send it to for printing.

Wow, never even though of this. What a great idea.

Re: Printing Out Boarding Passes?

I'm glad you mentioned this. I had a note on my calendar to print out my boarding passes for our flight to Orlando and didn't even think about needing to do the same for our departing boarding passes! Hopefully, we'll get an answer.

I know with using the Magical Express this is an optiion for participating airlines, but I don't think it's something they do normally. It can't hurt to ask though.

Re: Printing Out Boarding Passes?

My daughter, and son-in-law just flew SW this past week-end to Phoenix. I understand you could print them on line at midnight, that would be the day of your flight. This way they did get an A boarding pass.
We are flying to DW this May, and will be flying SW for the first time. Unfortunately for us we were switched from ATA to SW, because ATA no longer flies out of Midway Chicago to Orlando. Because we actually purchased our tickets from ATA we will not be able to get our boarding passes at midnight. So, we will just have to be at the airport early enough to get those A boarding passes. I just do not like the idea that we do not have assigned seating. ALthough, everyone tells me SW is a great airline. We will see for ourselves in a few months. JOANN

Re: Printing Out Boarding Passes?

I do not know of anywhere onsite that would allow you to print your boarding passes, maybe at some of the Convention Center hotels such as CR and CSR.

Keep in mind guys, it is NOT necessary to print them online, and when you arrive at the airport you still will have to stand in line to check your bags. I personally have never done the online thing, and may do it my next flight simply so that I can get the bonus dividend miles.

Re: Printing Out Boarding Passes?

It makes a difference with SWA when you get your boarding pass. They letter the boarding passes A, B, and C. Those with A boarding passes get to board first and that is a bit bigger with SWA because they have open seating. If you have a C boarding pass you board last and may not get to sit with your family--that's a big deal if you have kids.

In the Uk airlines with open seating allow adults with children to borad first as they can not make you sit apart from your children for safety reasons! This is the only advantage I have found of flying with older children (3+) My youngest is now nearly 9 and we still get to board first with the open seating airlines!

Re: Printing Out Boarding Passes?

SW allows pre-boarding with children 5 and younger. After that, you're on your own. Our youngest is now 10, but he'd still freak out if he couldn't sit with us. But really, I can't see that happening unless we were one of the very last to board, and even then, I'm sure one of the attendants would help out.

I'm really surprised no one has tried to do the printing on the return trip. I guess we'll have to get to the airport really early again.

Thats the only thing we did not like with Southwest, the A,B,C thing is like a cattle call. I much prefer assigned seating.

Re: Printing Out Boarding Passes?

I called SW and asked about pre-boarding with older children. This will be our 8 yr old twins first flight and our daugther is a bit apprehensive. I was told that when we check in mention this and that she thought they would let us pre-board. However, it just depends on the person working the gate.

I think it depends on your disability. Here's the page that lists their policies: http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/disability.html

I did find out that SW has Rapid Checkin Kiosks at the Orlando airport. You could at least send one adult there to get boarding passes while the other is waiting in line to check bags. You can also get boarding passes through the Skycaps. Might be enough of a time saver to make a difference when you board.
Here's the site with info: http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/checkin.html
