Refrigerators in Resorts

How big are the refrigerators at CBR? Does every room have one included now? Are they big enough to hold a gallon size jug of milk? Sorry, this is our first time at WDW resort, so I have no idea about little things like this. We plan to stop at Publix on the way and I don't want to buy too much (or too little for that matter). Any suggestions for the grocery stop are appreciated.

Re: Refrigerators in Resorts

Cathy, I stayed at CBR last year and requested the frig. However, I called front desk a few days before and asked about the refrigerators and they told me all rooms should have one and if your room does not, call to the front desk and they will send one up, and they are FREE. This just started this last year I believe with all the Mod's and Deluxe hotels.
Now, they are a reasonable sized frigerator. But I don't know if a Gallon will fit, the way they are set up. I think you might be able to fit a 1/2 gallon in there though. I bought a few water bottles, the 24oz size and fit them on the door. I didnt put much else in there, maybe a few pastry items I didn't want sitting out and our halloween candy.

Hope that helps!

Re: Refrigerators in Resorts

The fridges are standard "college dorm room" size. If you take out the little rack on top, you might be able to fit a gallon sized milk jug, but probably not much else. I'd go with the half gallon and re-stock from your resort gift shop if need be.

Please tell me this is true. You can get a free fridge in the Mod's and Deluxes? If this is true I may never stay off site again!

They are now standard at the Deluxes and Moderates. Here's a link to Anita at All Ears that confirms that:

Re: Refrigerators in Resorts

We have put gallon sized jugs in and a bunch of other things too! But my DH is quite the packer!! We have a camper and pack it often so we are use to making things fit in!!!

We also require alot of milk because our DS loves milk! So we make it work with milk some fruit, waterbottles, pop.

Re: Refrigerators in Resorts

We also stayed at CBR and had a gallon of apple juice in the fridge, along with water bottles and bottle of champagne (small).

For groceries, we picked up pop-tarts (no need to heat to eat), breakfast bars, and donuts for morning munchies. We also picked up cookies and crackers for night munchies. You might want to pick up some individually packed snack type foods for the parks, fruit snacks, granola bars etc.

Re: Refrigerators in Resorts

WOW! That's great news! We'll be staying at the Polynesian this summer, and we were wondering about the fridges! Back in 2003, when we stayed at the Contemporary, we didn't get a fridge until the middle of our second day! We had to do the whole "ice in the sink" thing!
