Which building in CBR?

Hi everyone!

My husband and I are going to Disney May 5-13 2005 and we got a King bed room at CBR. We are celebrating our one year anniversary and my big 3-0, no little ones yet.

Which building do you recommend for location, decor, etc?

Also, has anyone taken any of the behind the scenes tours and really enjoyed them? I am thinking of trying to book one or two but I am curious to hear any experiences.

I've only stayed at CBR once so I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I found this map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cbrmap.htm
It's kind of fuzzy but you can see where the different buildings are in relation to the lobby, bus stops, etc. Have a great trip! :)

Kathi, when were you guys married?? We will be celebrating our first anniversary too--on May 13th!

We won't be at WDW though.

We were there in October and stayed in Trinidad North bldg 32. Bldg 31 has a beautiful courtyard (might be a good choice for you!) The village is close to the food court and the main pool. If you want to be further from the action I would suggest either Aruba, Jamaica or Trinidad South.

Thanks everyone for your input. I think we might pick Aruba or Jamaica. It seems like no matter which village we choose we'll have a good time. I haven't been since 1997 and my husband has never been (except for a 4 hour drive through at the MK when he was a toddler) so it should be great.

dznygrl, we actually were married on March 16th 2004 in Aruba but we had a hometown thing on May 16th 2004 so although this vaca is not on our actual anniversary, it's the closest we could get with our work schedules and all!

Happy Anniversary to you as well (a bit early), I hope you are doing something fun!

We love Aruba & Jamaica. We like to stay in buildings #'s 51, 52 & 45. Take a look at this map. It’s just far away enough to be quiet and close enough to be convenient.

Hey I just noticed you guys are from Boston. Try building #51 & #52 lagoon view, it's awesome.

Thanks MJD! We asked for a king bed so I wonder if any of those rooms face the lagoon. I'm sure they must have one or two?

I see you stayed at Port Orleans too. We were going to stay there but then changed to CBR. Good move or no?

POR wasn't our first choice. We stayed there for a day. I like CBR better!!! The rooms are much bigger. Ask for perferred view which typically is lagoon.

Just be advised, the buildings closer to Old Port Royale cost a little more per night.

We've stayed there twice...Trinidad S. and Jamaica. Trinidad S. is one of the farthest away from OPR. Jamaica was awesome. We were in Building 41 which was a short, short walk to the Bus Stop, a short walk around the corner to the quiet pool and about a 5-10 minute walk to OPR. You will love this resort, especially if it is just you and DH. Kids love it too, as did our DS.

2 stays at CBR, both in Jamaica...Last year, we were in Bldg. 46 (2nd floor), with one side of our (king bed) room facing the parking loop. Surprisingly, this was not a problem at all. We were also there in early Dec. with very light crowds both at the resort and in the parks. I have a few pics I could email you, if you'd like. Just PM me.

BTW, we will be returning to CBR in '06. We absolutely LOVE it!

I stayed at Martinique building 21 and loved it!!!

My partner and I will also be celebrating an anniversary May 7 through 12 at CBR. Moving to AKL for last three nights. We stayed at CBR Jan of '04 and loved. We were in Trinadad North. Trying for Martinique, Bldg 26 this time. (just a bit closer to Old Port Royale). Happy Anniversary and have a great trip!
