Re: Pop Century, which rooms are closest to food court?
You should ask for that. There are rooms in the 50's, 60's and 70's that are all relatively close to the food court, but there are also rooms in those buildings that are a longer walk. So, the best thing to do is to ask for a room that's close to the food court.
For us, being closer to the buses is probably better than the food court. That's why I love the 80's & 90's. Although, in December, because of resort hopping, we stayed in both the 90's and the 70's. And we saw the best of both worlds. In my opinion, the 70's, Building B and the 80's Building B are the best "standard" rooms. (I'm pretty sure the 50's and 60's are mostly preferred rooms.) In those two buildings you're both close to the food court as well as the bus stop. Here's a map to see for yourself: http://www.magicaltravel.com/pop_ce1.jpg

The 60's are preferred so you will pay 10 dollars extra a night. The 70's are the closest standard rooms.

Remember if you stay close to the pool it may be a bit noisy. We stayed there last year and to me it wasnt too bad. But when it came around 9:30 or tenish, we heard/felt the fireworks from EPCOT. It was really cool.

the 50's are not Preferred rooms...trust me...Our room in the 50's was the furthest..EVER from the lobby and bus stops..miserable...miserable...miserable was i... We prefer the 80's building facing the computer pool..if you cut through the parking lot it's a short walk....We love the 80's and we were very happy with it! ![]()

Re: Pop Century, which rooms are closest to food court?
Obviously it's a personal thing. We were in the 50's, the building furthest from the food court and bus stop. It was quiet, which we really liked. It overlooked the lake which was cool. We could see the fireworks from Epcot (when we were awake enough to see them
). The walk was okay. It was fun for us to watch the people as we walked and we were never in a big hurry to get anywhere. What the heck, we put on a bazillion miles at the theme parks, another 100 yards wasn't going to kill us. We had to walk in the rain one night when we got back from MK but we just laughed about it all the way there. With real young kids, it might not be so fun. We had a blast!

Re: Pop Century, which rooms are closest to food court?
We had the ultimate room for being close to the food court. It was in Bldg 7 of the 70's and the room # was 161. It was the very corner room right next to the food court and it was fantastic. On top of that we were close to the 90's parking lot where we always found a close spot to park and that was during a very busy time. For reference, our room had the twister game in front of it. Ask for this room or a room close to it for the ultimate convienence.
