renew wedding vows

My wife and I were thinking about renewing our wedding vows (15 years) in May, 2007. Anyone have any info on how to arrange this and what the cost may be? Or whom to contact? Thanks.

Re: renew wedding vows

Well unfortunately, they stopped doing the "Rehitching Ceremony" at the Land. That was cute and fun, but I'm guessing it's not what you had in mind for renewing vows. You probably want the WDW wedding link Baloo posted above.

Re: renew wedding vows

I told Pete I want to do it for our 3 or 5 year anniversary at the Floridian Wedding Chapel. Think that's a little too early?

Re: renew wedding vows

The rehitching ceremony sounded like fun and would be an easy surprise. I followed the link all of the Disney vow renewal ceremonies I saw cost more than I would pay ($3500 and up). Would like to surprise DW with simple ceremony. I spent that much I would need a Disney divorce kit!

Re: renew wedding vows

My DH was constantly wanting to renew our vows. We were planning our trip to WDW for our 10th anniversary. So thought I would surprise him and called WDW and at the time was about $2200 just to renew. No way I said, so went on line. For $500. we renewed our vows on the beach in Clearwater (only 45-hour drive from WDW). Included was a rose boutinere and single rose for me, photos and a certificate. We had the time of our lives and never laughed so hard.

Wow, that was 5 1/2 years ago already. My how time flies when your having a blast!!!!

Look on line, you will find something cheaper!

They unfortunately do not do the rehitching ceremony anymore! We had booked that and found out the hard way when we got there! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Re: renew wedding vows

I say it is never too early to renew your vows. My Dh and I renewed ours for our 4th anniversary. It was in Vegas with Elvis. I surprised DH with it for Christmas. He loved it. Now the joke is "The next time we get married....."

To be honest with you, in many ways our vow renew means more to me then our wedding did. I LOVED our wedding, but it was more traditional. With our vow renewal we had more fun (obviously with Elvis and all). It was just DH and I. And Elvis walked me down to DH. Also we wrote our own vows. Not only did we make each other cry, but we made Elvis cry too. So you know it was meaningful ;-)

I saw go for. Heck Maybe fore our next wedding we'll do Disney.

Re: renew wedding vows

I've got a vow renewal booked for October for our tenth, and it is a secret, so nobody tell my wife! An intimate vow renewal package is going to cost me $2350, but you have to have a resort reservation in order to add this "add on" to your trip. This is a lot less than the full blown Wedding Chapel ceremonies, but also for only 10 guests. You get the officiant, some flowers, photographer, adn a Disney wedding cake, with flavor choices I've never seen. Break it down and it isn't as bad as it might seem. When we got married, the Rabbi took $300 and I'm sure that's now $500. The use of Disney property will cost you money too. Not sure how much you get out of the picture package, but I think there's only a 25% premium for getting married on Disney property. I know there have been some complaints about the level of attention you get from the wedding planners, but at this point, I don't need them for more than a little guidance, I've got my own ideas about the rest of the day.

DH and I have discussed the idea of renewing our vows at WDW for our 10th anniversary. Where on WDW property is the vow renewal ceremony held?

Re: renew wedding vows

My dream was to be married at disney, that was quickly crushed after researching the costs!!
After much thought, I called the Swan (Not a 'Disney' resort-owned by Westin). They put me in touch with a wedding coordinator that works with the resort at www.justmarry.com. Susan Southerland.
We found a reasonable "package" and had a lovely wedding outside in a beautiful courtyard looking towards the Boarwalk.
I'm sure they organize vow renewals as well.
No, not everything was perfect. Planning via emails was not perfect, but much less hassle than a traditional wedding! But the little things that were not as I had planned were "little" and most went un-noticed by myself! They were pointed out to me after the ceremony! ie: the cake was not decorated as decided upon, but it was white, beautiful, and tasty!
After our ceremonly we all (29 guests flew from Vermont to join us!) walked across the bridge to the Beach Club for dinner. (arranged by me, not the wedding coordinator)
I think contacting Justmarry.com would be worth looking into.
Oh, yea, Not as romantic, but as I was checking into how to get married at Disney without breaking the bank some did suggest this...No, you can't just get a justice of the peace or someone to go with you somwhere (anywhere) at Disney and marry you. It must be a Disney organized event. So a few, including a Florida Justice of the Peace, suggested to book a nice room with a balconly, and you could get married in your room, on the balcony. OK for just two maybe??

I dont know how Disney does their vow renewal but the way that they do their weddings is AWESOME.

DH and I were married at Poly Sunset Pointe. We had a wedding cordinator and all the other things that you mentioned above. The cake is delicious we went with choc cake with a rasberry filled center. There were different photo packages as well. The flowers were beautiful.

Everything was just magical So if Disney does their vow renewal like they do their weddings you are going to LOVE everything.
