Question about Magical Express service

Has anyone here used the Magical Express service AND rented a car?

For our next trip to WDW we were planning on spending a few days doing other stuff in the Central Florida area (NASA, etc) and were wondering if we could have our luggage brought to our resort, via the Magical Express, but our bodies via the rental car. Alternatively, Either DH or myself could rent the car, while the rest of the party rides the Magical Express...Any thoughts?

This is a question for Mickey!! He would probably know!! Or you could rent once you get to the property! There are several car rental agencies in the DTD Hotels! If you call them they will come and get you at your resort! But reserve them in advance because they have less cars because they are hotel locations!

Why not rent a car from National or Alamo?
They both have offices at Disney at the Car Care Center. We are taking the Magical Express in and renting our car from National.
