Oh, absolutely I agree re thongs. But I think larger people can wear whatever they want and I won't look askance at them for it.

Re: Swimming attire

I'm not trying to offend anyone. And I agree larger people can wear whatever they want. Just like small people can show off what they have. I'm saying somethings are better left covered up. Large or small.

No children, who arent potty trained, are allowed in the pools. There is also no use of floatation devices other than life vest allowed. I think they may allow the learn to swim suits.

Thanks for the info. I assume this goes for the "kiddie" pools as well?

Re: Swimming attire

PUHLEASEEEE!!! Speaking as a large woman, there is no way in the world you could convince me to fit myself into a bikini. Let alone go out in public in one. I know better!!! All it takes is a look in the mirror. It amazes me that some people just can't see or tell what looks good and what does not. To me that is just not OK, and the other people who are with you should tell you that BEFORE you leave your room.

But part of it is a matter of taste, really. To each his own! :)

Er, or her own! From your pic I had assumed you were male... But I would say that if you are comfortable and not wearing clothes which aren't allowed in the water then wear what you like!

That pic is my fav actor. The one from phantom of the opera.I'm just saying that certain people should cover up things that are better left to veiwing in the privacy of your own room whether you are big or small.

Re: Swimming attire

If lawwin's pic was really lawwin, I'd be leaving Pete and heading STRAIGHT to lawwin!

And as for the water wings, I saw kids wearing them down the slides at the Floridian, and the lifeguards didn't say anything about it.

Re: Swimming attire

I was surprised a few years ago to see a French family with their two young daughters at typhoon lagoon. The girls, who appeared to be about 8 and 10 were topless. No one said anything to them but they got a few stares, and my children asked why the girls weren't wearring tops to their bathing suits. I guess it must be quite common in France, but I was surprised no CM's clued them in that it wasn't really appropriate.

Re: Swimming attire

People should exercise good judgement when deciding what to wear in front of other people, especially children. I am surprised they allowed the girl to wear the thong at the pool. I just don't really understand why a woman would want to wear something so suggestive anyways - especially at WDW. The same goes for guys in very tight bathing suits. (just my 2 cents too)

Re: Swimming attire

I saw little kids with the swimmies on their arms and they seem to be OK. The lifeguards did not allow the blow up tube rings that go around the waist.

Babets, have your Stepfather try those board shorts that are like bathing suits but are much longer and practically come down and cover the knee.

Re: Swimming attire

Now I have to get the image of a man in a thong OUT of my mind.
