Re: Swimming attire

The girl I saw wasn't wearing an official thong, just a swimsuit (and a wedgie!) bottom that wasn't full coverage. Maybe it was the string bikini on top that made it seem even smaller, I just didn't think it was appropriate.

And as for the 8 and 10 year old French girls at the water park, 10 is definitely a pubescent girl, and that is just creepy that she wasn't wearing a top.

Re: Swimming attire

Jenny, that's what I thought, too. Especially with all the creepy pedophiles lurking around. I realize that it is a cultural difference thing but someone should have clued them in that it wasn't appropriate here in the states.

Re: Swimming attire

Well, apart from the whole issue of what's age-appropriate for female toplessness, which is indeed an important issue (I have heard that children are physically growing up faster than when I was a kid (I'm 37) due to the higher levels of hormones in our food, which is kind of disturbing, but otherwise I wouldn't have thought of 10 as pubescent at all), I suppose we'll have to just disagree about matters of taste and style. *shrug*

Re: Swimming attire

All this swimsuit talk is making me sick. I can't stand the thought of having to put a bathing suit on yet. Just not ready.

Yes, today our temperatures in DC are in the 40's (Fahrenheit) to the low 60's!! Well, at least it cuts down on the pollen. But in Florida it will be much warmer.

Re: Swimming attire

In an amazing burst of synchronicity, I saw this website a few weeks ago, so one can indeed find such suits!

Actually, for many many years it's been a fact that (hmmm how to say this on DC) a girl can begin womanly functions at the age of 9, so yes, I consider 10 to be pubescent. But you're a man, so I don't expect you to know these things

Matt, sorry, I don't have a photo (but that's probably a good thing since she could have been 19 or could have been 17)! I don't want to be responsible for DC being taken down Michael Jackson style!

Oh my! Er, no, I didn't know that at all; I was thinking it was some recent development. I appreciate the correction!

David

Well, now you'll be quite impressive at cocktail parties

Poor Matt! But at least now you are prepared (and 9 isn't very common, so take heart).

True. It might make a refreshing change from, say, comic books and anime... or quantum physics and deconstruction(ism)...
