Swimming attire

Hi we are getting ready for our vacation at the PC and was wondering if there are certain things you cannot wear to swim in? My delimma is this, my stepfather who is a farmer does not wear shorts. Well he is going on this trip with us and for the grandkids sake has said he may or may not swim in the pool. Only thing is, he only has cut off pants made into shorts. Are they allowed? Anyone know?

Re: Swimming attire

As long as he's not wearing that near-thong I saw a young girl wearing last week at the Floridian! Scandalous!

Re: Swimming attire

They were not allowed at the Polynesian. Not sure about PC. I would call and ask. Then you will know for sure. When do you leave?

Re: Swimming attire

I thought they just didn't allow cut-offs or suits with rivets on the slides. If it's a cee-ment pond, it shouldn't matter what the trunks are made of.

Re: Swimming attire

As long as it isn't a a big guy or any guy in those teeny weeny speedos, I can stand to look. Those speedos just scare me, they always look like a rubber band stretched too tight. Who would they hurt if it snapped? OUCH!!!!!

Re: Swimming attire

Yes, I think it's the rivets rather than the style (whether short-style, Speedo-style or otherwise; though I think they would technically not prefer actual thongs on anyone, per se, European-style "Speedo"-suits should be okay) which is at issue, as rivets (including metal bits on cut-offs) could damage slides and such.

Re: Swimming attire

Yikes, I don't care WHAT kind of body a man has, Speedos are just wrong! LOL quartz, I had to give Pete a smack for looking at the girl on the waterslide last week! She looked great, maybe I'm just turning into an old prude, but your butt shouldn't be hanging out at WDW!

Re: Swimming attire

A somewhat unrelated question -- do they allow kids to wear water wings in the pools? I can't imagine that they would not, but we were at a pool over spring break where wings (as well as swim diapers) were a no-no.

Happy Monday!

Re: Swimming attire

I have to agree WDW is not place for a thong. I haven't seen anyone with one yet. But I have seen some VERY large women in bikini's.
