Last minute trip in June???
Thank you
for this newfound obession with disney vacations!!! It started out small and it grew and grew and grew! And now my DH sees me on the computer checking out the disboards and just shakes his head He doesn't even have to ask anymore!I have introduced myself on the Cruise board but now it's time to introduce myself here. My name is Kelly and I started out a few months ago thinking I would do a bit of research for my family of four (DD - 6 and DS - 5) to take a family vacation to WDW and everything was going great. I have a 3 night cruise booked for February 06 and I will plan the land portion of our WDW vacation around that. The only problem is that I can't contain my excitement any longer.... I want to go to Disney World NOW!!! So, here is my crazy plans! What do you think of me being able to plan a vacation for the first week of June... just a short 5 night stay at one of the values? Plz help this desparate disney fanatic get the plans on track 1. I know the crowds will be signifigantly higher in June than they would be in February but would you say that this time is a slower time of the busier season? 2. Any tips on finding the CHEAPEST possible flights for this time period. I have to do this trip on a strict budget cause I still want to do my trip in February too! I am from Ontario, Canada but will be flying out of Buffalo, NY. 3. Are MYW tickets linked to the first person that first uses them? For this trip, I will be taking my kids and my 14 year old nephew but for the trip in February, I will be bringing kids and DH. If I buy 10 day MYW passes with no expiry for everyone this time, would my DH be able to use the ticket that my nephew used this time around on the next trip in February? 4. Should I buy an AP or will the resort discount rooms be used up at this point for such a last minute trip? 5. For the Canadians out there, neither of my kids have birth certificates. Will they get across the border with just Ontario Health Cards? Is a month and a few days enough to get a birth certificate? Well I guess that is it for now.... I'm sure I will have more since everyone here seems to have all the answers. If you can think of any other tips that will help me maximize my budget and still allow for a February trip, I am open to it! Thank you everyone in advance for the help!!!! I can't wait ... I am soo excited. How will Disney ever live up to my excitement???? Is it possible??? Kelly |

Re: Last minute trip in June???
Welcome to DC!! Let me see if i can help you. Your DH will not be able to use your nephew's MYW ticket if your nephew has used it first, because the first time your nephew uses it,the ticket machine will do what they call a biometric reading of the measurements of the distance between the index and middle finger and that info will be encoded on the ticket. As to birth certificates, when llama comes along, she will be able to help you,as she hails from Canada. I'm not sure about airfare from Canada. Again, llama would probably be the best person to help you there.

Re: Last minute trip in June???
Kelly, Welcome! This is the BEST group of Disney fanatics that you will ever find! I'll try to help you out as best I can, and I'm sure there are other Disney folks here that will help you as well!
June, July, and August always seem to be the busiest at the parks! With July and August being a bit more so than June! But don't mind the crowds that much, because in my experiences, the crowds have been polite as everyone is there having the best time! The start of June the crowds shouldn't be too bad! My last trip there was the end of May- start of June and the crowds were not bad at all! Even for the Star Wars weekends! As for the MYW passes, I'm pretty sure that your DH can use any un-used portion of the ticket. But I don't want to tell you positively! Someone else here can let you know for sure! My family and I are also booked on a Disney Cruise! We are doing a 7 day land & sea vacation with 4 on ship and 3 in park! I'll be posting a trip report upon our return this July! Hopefully It'll be of some help to you on your cruise, as I plan on being very descriptive in my report! Again, welcome to DisneyCentral! Hope your plans go smoothly for you! Good luck! ![]()

Re: Last minute trip in June???
Welcome to DC!
I have found that with the new tickets the only way you'll save money ticket wise is if you are planning on going for 12 plus days a year.........obsessions can make you do crazy things so it may be possible.... the room discount however..is WELL worth it...I am saving about 300 dollars this summer booking the AP discount...Now..if your going to book..or even think your going to book under the AP discount I'd go ahead and call tomorrow to make reservations..the codes came out a few months ago..and finding a lot of consecutive nights together at one hotel might be tough...i know that the values probaly have a lot of rooms left.....but as far as mods and deluxes i am not sure... feel free to ask lots of questions..we alllll love answering them!!

Re: Last minute trip in June???
First of all, welcome to DisneyCentral.
I think most of your ticket questions have been answered. From what I have read people had trouble getting the AP discount the first days it was released. You can always call WDW and see if there may be any AP rooms left. My DH and I are both teachers so we always go to WDW in the summer. The parks are crowded and the heat can get to you but if you plan ahead you will be fine. Always have a plan for the day and a few rides that are must dos. The sit down restaurants are usually pretty busy at the usually meal times so either try to eat at off times or better yet make Advanced Dining Reservations (Priority Seating) for any sit down meal you may want. The character meals are usually pretty booked 30 days out so make you ADRs as soon as you can.
