Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

I was wondering which Deluxe Resort in the varying opinions out there is the best resort to stay for their Christmas decorations.

We are planning our first WDW trip for the month of December. We wanted to experience the Christmas magic. We are planning on Dec 11-17, 2005.

Thanks!

Here is a good site to see pictures of the resorts with Christmas decorations.

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

I wouldn't necessarily choose my resort based on Christmas decorations. Many (if not all) of the resorts are done up beautifully! Instead, think about location, theming, price range etc.
I would also suggest taking an afternoon or evening and touring around to some of the other resorts to enjoy their decorations. This makes for a fun time and allows you to see it all for yourself!

I saw a picture of the Christmas tree in the WL its was beautiful. I can't wait to get down there. Someone mentioned in this thread to just visit the resorts. That sounds like a great idea.

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

I saw a show on the Travel Channel about Disney at Christmas, and they went to a few different resorts but the one that sticks out in my mind is GF. They had a huge gingerbread carousel (that actually worked) and carolers walking around, and the decorations were gorgeous. I can't remember the other resorts they showed, but they were all decorated beautifully.

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

I don't think it really matters where you stay if you plan to resort hop to see all the decorations. We stayed at Pop Century last Christmas but did a lot of resort hopping and our opinion is that Wilderness Lodge captures the Christmas atmosphere the best, particularly if you are from an area of North America that has pine and spruce trees.

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

We are planning to stay at WL during Christmas and go to look at the other resorts decorations. We are also going to MVMCP to see MK decked out and the Christmas around the world at EPCOT. I can't wait for a most magical christmas this year.

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

Wow! MJD...thanks for that site. I have just spent ages looking at all the pictures. Brilliant!
I think I would have to say WL or GF. (although I am not too sure about the white reindeer at GF! )

I would love to come to WDW for christmas but I am not allowed any time off in DEC nor is DH. So, for the time being we will just have to enjoy your holiday pics and trip reports from this time of year x

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

I agree that you shouldn't choose a resort based on their Christmas decorations. You can resort hop and see many of them. GF is the most beautiful, but one that hasn't been mentioned is Animal Kingdom Lodge. The tree is gorgeous! They have many other decorations throughout the lobby area and near Boma and Jiko's (restaurants). I love them all at that time of year!

Re: Which Deluxe Resort for Christmas Decorations?

My sister went during December a few years ago, and spent most of a day just walking around the various resorts. She has some amazing photos...they all seem beautiful. I agree with some of the others that resort hopping is the way to go!
