AP Discount Questions

Hi all,

In order to get te AP room discount, does the room reservation have to be in the AP holders name? Or, can the AP holder just be anywhere on the reservation, as just another guest in the room?

Example: Grandma holds and AP and is coming with us to the GF. Can I call in the reservation and get the AP room discount under my name and just have Grandma show the AP when we check in at the front desk? Or, would Grandma have to call in the reservation under her name and add all of us to it?

I hope this makes sense.

Also, would Grandma be able to book another AP discounted room for her other Grandson at a different hotel for the same week? Even though she can obviously only be at one hotel at a time.

An AP holder can get up to 3 rooms with the discount. Only one person in your party needs the AP, so you can get all 3 rooms with grandma's AP. I think all reservations would have to be in grandma's name but you may want to call disney and check on this.

I applied the AP code to a room that wasn't in my name and the CM I was talking to just said I had to be there when they checked in.

Also,I think that the reservations have to be in the same resort.

The reservations don't have to be in the same resort -- you just have to be in each resort when each guest checks in. And I thought they all had to be in the passholder's name, but that's a good question to ask when you call Disney Reservations.

Has anyone heard what the AP room discounts will be for October?

Not yet, jscuderi. Chances are they won't be announced until August. But Disney has been doing this weird thing lately where they give a standard dollar amount off each resort level rack rate and I have a feeling this will continue thoughout the year. The discounts aren't nearly as deep as they have been in the past, but at least they're still around... .
