I know it has been widely reported but both resorts will be getting a FULL overhaul which includes all public areas of both resorts.

I can imagine. Wasn't a major complaint of CR rooms that they were getting a little worn?

I think that was a complaint at both Poly and Contemp. I will definetly attempt to stay at one or the other sometime after the complete overhaul is complete. (Sometime my senior year 2007 I plan to go to WDW).

I would love to see the Poly when it's done. Though it kinda bugs me that it will only take 1 yr. I hope they do a better Polynesian style, and take out some of the cheesy Hawaiian vibe.

Well WDWMagic is calling it "South Seas" but it seems to be time for change.

That's great. I think, with a lot of updating, the CR could be a great resort. I'm glad they are updating the Poly too. I haven't stayed there yet, but my DH liked the looks of it the last time we were at WDW. So, we might be staying there on our next visit.

I've seen pics of both new rooms. The Contemporary is especially nice.

Do you have any of the Poly? I would be interested in seeing them. I have to agree, the Contemporary will look 100% better. Those rooms are really nice, and I really would like to stay in them. I sure hope the Poly rehab is similar, it really needs it.

They will have flat screen tvs too!

If all the rooms are gonna look like that at the Contemporary - that may be the resort I look forward to staying at the most! (It's been near LAST on my list)

When I was at the Contemporary in October, they were already starting to change out room furnishings on the Bay Lake side. The Polynesian has been undergoing refurb for a while now. Some of the buildings are closed on a rotating schedule.
WDWSpider, how could you be waiting 30 years for Episode 7? The first Star Wars was released in May 1977. The announcement that there would be 8 more movies at the rate of one every three years wasn't made until Spring 78. Yet, you've been waiting since 1975 for the seventh movie, the movie that wasn't supposed to be out until 1995?
