SSR or CSR?

We LOVE CSR because of the hammocks and the laid-back atmosphere, but we're very interested in SSR as well because we'd never be hurting for entertainment with DTD just across the way. What say you?

Re: SSR or CSR?

I picked SS because it's new and looks very cool. The CSR really has no appeal to me. I have only read a handful of positive reviews from that resort, so I am a bit wary.

Re: SSR or CSR?

I voted SSR for two reasons...1. it is new and very pretty, and 2. I do not like CSR, it is too big and too spread out. The theme of CSR didn't do much for me either.

Re: SSR or CSR?

I voted Saratoga Springs. It looks so neat and CS has never excited me to much...

Re: SSR or CSR?

I also voted for SSR. I may be a little predjudice though, as I own there.
The rooms are bigger, more of a 'home' kind of feel. Also, it's new! And you mentioned entertainment! It's got that big time, with DTD just a stroll away!

I love Coronado Springs. Love the theming, the pool and the friendly cast members.

Re: SSR or CSR?

It still amazes me to this day that guests that have never tried CSR have an opinion as to why they hate it. We just took our 8th trip to CSR and we still love it just as much as our first time back in 1998.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to ALL the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Best main pool area (of the mods) with 3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates walking to your village
High speed internet service
WiFi Service
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades

THE CONS
Full size beds
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

Re: SSR or CSR?

I chose CSR, because I have only stayed there and therefore cannot have an opinion on SSR. I like CSR, I think it is a beautiful resort and we love the Pepper Market. Plus, they have a great pool area.

Re: SSR or CSR?

I voted for SSR because it's new and a DVC resort. CSR is a mod and that means smaller rooms and only full size beds.

Re: SSR or CSR?

I've stayed at both, and voted for SSR. The room size alone merits that. It's a beautiful resort, with a nice relaxed atmosphere, within walking distance of the Marketplace, and it's brand spanking new.

Re: SSR or CSR?

CSR! Have stayed there 12 times and just love it! But Disney in it's infinite wisdom has decided not to give AP discounts for this resort any more! I guess they figure they can get rack rates from companies paying for their employees to stay there. Joe

Re: SSR or CSR?

I have stayed in both, and I really liked both.

I voted for SSR. The rooms are a lot larger, especially if you go for a one or two bedroom villa. And frankly, it is new.

Coronado Springs is specifically designed for conventions. But just the same, it is a nice resort with a wonderful pool.

Re: SSR or CSR?

I voted for SSR. I have stayed there and I really enjoyed it. We saw CSR this trip and the theming did not appeal to me and it is really not somewhere that I would stay. Besides, you are putting a mod against a home away from home (DVC) resort and I would choose the DVC resort every time.

Re: SSR or CSR?

CSR! The rooms are really big, the theming is awesome, and the food is excellent!

Besides, it's got to be cheaper - so why not go for cheaper and spend more money on t-shirts and toys!

CSR is SO much fun!
