Okay....I'll start!
 It was a beautiful day in September (hot, very hot) We had a long weekend (DH is a Marine) so, we decided to elope. I called Disney. They made all the arrangements. We had an intimate ceremony on a balcony of the Wilderness Lodge, overlooking Bay Lake. At 9 am we were wed by the Rev. Day. I was wearing a sleeveless semi-formal wedding dress and my husband was in his dress blues (oh my!). The most unforgettable part of the whole thing was the looks that we got from the other guests. I will never forget when a little girl came up to me, like I was Cinderella. We were outside being photographed. The people who walked by all looked and pointed at us. (Of course, we looked so good!) I waved at the little girls as they stopped to look. It was such a special day. All day we were treated like royalty. (and we didn't even wear those hats!)

We were married at WDW in November 1999 at the Wedding Pavilion. We had about 30 guests and had our reception/dinner at Narcoossee's. We had the time of our lives that week.
(We're headed down next month to celebrate our 3rd anniversary.) :)

I didn't get hitched, but I honeymooned there
Hi,
I did not get married there, but I did stay for 10 days on my honeymoon. It was a great thrill, because it was my wife's first time. She started crying during the Spectromagic Parade. When people asked me where I spent my honeymoon I say that I went to France, Italy, Germany, England, Paris, etc. At this point they have this wide eyed expression and then I say and I did it all in one day. I went to EPCOT. It usually gets quite a chuckle. |

No we passed on the coach, fireworks, release of the doves, characters showing up for the ceremony, etc. There is a fine line between a nice wedding and a cornball event. :laugh
Stemikger - you can tell people you took your wife on a trip around the world for your honeymoon! :D

I have a friend that honeymooned at the Grand Floridian. Is that where you stayed, YensidFan? I watched Great Hotels, yesterday. That is a dream of mine....maybe on our 10 yr. anniversary.
Where are you staying for your anniversary trip?

I love the GF! It is a dream of mine to stay there, in a turret (?) room facing the castle.
Because that is the ultimate, we put it off. For our wedding, we stayed at the WL (which I LOVE). For our first anniversary we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. The next year we stayed at the Beach Club and did the Disney Cruise combo. It's nice to find another couple who think that WDW is as romantic (and fun!) as we do!

Wow, we've got everybody beat by years! We were married in August 1992 on a balcony at the Grand Floridian (before they even had the "wedding pavilion"). We were supposed to get married at Sunset Point at the Polynesian, but it started to rain about an hour before the ceremony. It was for the best anyway, I originally wanted the Grand Floridian, but at that time they didn't do wedding there, can you believe it? Since it rained, they granted my wish.

Very cool melanie! I didn't realize WDW held weddings before there was a pavilion (I thought the pavilion started it all). That is ironic how the weather actually helped you out!

We eloped at the Grand Floridian in May 2000. Believe it or not, as I was growing up, I was "afraid" to be married at my favorite place on earth for fear that a bad marriage may taint my feelings. But, when DH and I decided to elope, I could not WAIT to be married at Disney! Decisions were made fast and furiously!
I called CRO and told them we would be arriving in two days and where could we stay for our wedding night? Most places were booked. The agent kept me on the line a long time and seemed to be working hard and finally told us she found a suite at the Royal Plaza and a bunch of other agents just told her it would be a very nice way to go. The rate was so incredibly low. (I wish I knew her name to thank her!) I knew I wanted to be married at the Grand Floridian on the beach at sunset and that is just what we did! It was wonderful! We had dinner at Citricos (V & A's was booked, of course). Everyone treated us like royalty! And driving around in a brand new Jaguar, didn't hurt either! We partied that night at Pleasure Island and the fireworks was a magical ending to our day. (I don't know how much DH remembers of the later evening, but he was still standing. :laugh ) Thanks for asking!:)

Cinderellafifi...do I remember correctly, are you pregnant? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Your wedding sounds wonderful! I can picture it now *sigh*. You had even less time than we did! We had a week. Which was more than enough time..considering it was only the two of us. (Although, our parents did show up...but that is another story)

Thank you for asking, I am pregnant. I am due on November 27th but my doctor said he doesn't see me going past the 25th.
Yes, we only had a weekend wedding but it really doesn't seem that way. You had an entire week? That is still my dream! (my longest stay has been 5 nights - close, but no cigar). I had to laugh when I read your parents showed up on your honeymoon...I hope you did, too, when it happend.:laugh :)

We were really only there for a long weekend. It was the shortest trip we have ever had to the resorts...but worth it.
I'm so excited for you, less than a month to go! I was wishing for an early delivery when I was only 6 weeks away. I'm petite, so being pregnant felt like I was a beach ball! Needless to say, I delivered a few weeks early. (Thank Goodness!) Best Wishes!
