PC - help me out here.

OK, say BF and I head down to WDW during value season and stay at Pop Century. It's been years since I've stayed onsite, and the last time we did BF had to call and make reservations since I was sick. Of course, he doesn't even remember calling . Plus, I couldn't find a PC faq.

$77 per night + 6.5% FL tax + 11.5% county tax + $10 per person/per night ($20) = room total per night?

Did I get that right? Anybody know what the average is for a standard room at PC during value. Ballpark estimate here. Is there a FL Res or Active Military discount available or does that vary? What about Law Enforcement discount? I heard after 9/11, they offered a discount to LEs and Fire with proof/license; not sure if they still do.

Also - Are the Legendary halls open yet? If not, when? I think it's 1900-1940. I would kill to stay in 1920 or 1910.

I'll probably ask more. Give me time.

Re: PC - help me out here.

There's no per person charge per room. It's just $77 + tax.

Well, that's what I was thinking! But I was looking at All Ears, and it said this: "For each adult over 2 there is a $10 per night charge per person. Maximum of 4 persons per room." That threw me off. So that doesn't apply?

Re: PC - help me out here.

The +$10 is if you have more than 2 adults staying in the room. "For each adult OVER 2..."

Not each person over the age of 2, but the number of actual people :c)

It is worded kinda funky! I'm glad you're planning a trip, Kippage!

Re: PC - help me out here.

There was a military code of 40% a few weeks ago but I don't think it included the values. I'm not sure if it is still available, why don't you give them a call and ask!

Re: PC - help me out here.

Rooms are always sold for double occupancy (up to two people in the room).

Doesn't matter if just one person occupies the room, one person has to pay as though there were two in the room.

Drop the Florida 6.5% tax...it's the price of the room plus the 11.5% tax.

From what I heard the entire resort got kinda postponed after 9/11 and the Classic Years opened later than originally intended. The Legendary Years buildings are there, just not decorated or anything yet...they haven't decided yet when they'll finish them.

The FL resident discounts are usually the same as the AP holders (which would be $59 per night) but from mousesavers.com the FL resident discount for that period is not listed, only the AP discount..but it's worth asking about as I **think** they are usually the same.

When are you going?? We'll be there Oct 1-9!

We have two options. We can either take one big trip next year ( ), or we can take two smaller trips (3 or 4 days now, and 3 or 4 later). If we do the big trip, it won't be until either Sept or Dec of 06. But if we do the two smaller trips, we'll do one late Sept/early Oct this year, and then do the rest later. BF doesn't know if he'll be able to get days off - he just took a 6 week leave of absence when he left the country. Everyone keeps riding him about it; they scowled at him (lovingly, though) when he had to leave early for a Dr's appt.
But, he wants to go ahead and have reservations, ARs, etc planned out ahead of time - in case he thinks he may be able to take time off. That way we won't be rushed to figure everything out then.

They better finish The Legendary Years. I've been looking forward to that. I just think it would be SOOO neat to stay in a room decorated like the early 1900s.

Re: PC - help me out here.

Whenever I'm in the process of planning a trip to Disney with friends or family, I always call them first and get the rates for a few hotels. It never hurts to call them and ask how much the PC would be during X dates with out having the intention of booking right then. Consider it research, lol. When we stayed at the ASMu last month with 3 adults it was $84 and change with a florida resident discount.
In February we stayed at the PC for my birthday and we had a view of the unfinished Legendary years buildings. It looks like the place is desserted! They only had the main hall and a few guest buildings done, niether were painted or had the slightest themeing. It's kinda sad, I want to stay in the 1900's building too! lol
