Anyone have details about the room fridge?

Im looking for size and features on a in-room fridge. We are staying at POFQ and I was wondering about how much the fridge will hold? Is there a little freezer compartment?

Thanks, We leave in a week!

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

It's like a little dorm fridge. You will be able to fit some drinks and a few snacks in it but not much more. There is a little freezer part that will hold maybe 2 ice cube trays.

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

Yep -- don't plan on packing lots of food in there. And the freezer compartment is about 3-4 inches high, so don't bring any Ben & Jerry's or anything. ;) You might be able to fit a small water bottle in there to freeze for your next day in the park.

Also remember that, for anything you can't fit in the fridge, you can always fill one of the two garbage bins with ice and store stuff that way.

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

The fridge at CBR held lots of water and gatorade bottles. I was bummed out that it did not have a freezer, as I had planned on frezzing a few waters in order to keep the drinks cold in our little pack.

I never thought of that Bali, that's a GREAT idea! Since we usually stay at the values, this is a great way to keep your drinks cold for the next day.

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

We actually were able to fit some bottles of water in the top part that freezes and have about 3 frozen bottles of water. We did lay the bottles down though. If you buy those little freeze packs they will fit fine to freeze. Actually we had our fridge so cold, my baby's bottle with apple juice in it froze!!!

We're staying at CBR 8 nights and since the fridge (as I remember) costs around $10 a day I was thinking about just buying one at Walmart when I get there for about $60-70 and either selling to someone before I leave or bringing it home and using it. What do you think?

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

I heard that the mini fridges have recently become standard in all the rooms, and don't cost $10 a day anymore.

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

The fridge at POFQ held a six pack of beer and a 12 pack of soda with no problem. It was very cold and a cup of juice acually froze. Last year when there were no free refridgerators I brought a playmate cooler filled with bottled water and added ice to it every day. That worked perfectly fine and provided extra "luggage" space for the trip home.

The fridge is now standard in all the moderate rooms. So don't buy one because it will already be in your room when you get there.

Don't count on it being in the room without requesting it. I think you still have to ask for one.

No, we stayed at POR in December and did not request one and it was in the room, and we just stayed at CSR 2 weeks ago and it was in the room.
They are standard in all the deluxe and moderates as of last fall.
You do not have to request one, and you do not have to pay for it, it is standard in the room.

I have heard this same thing but have been to WDW since the change. When I asked for one for my DFIL a few weeks ago I was told that we would have one in our room at WL w/o requesting.

Re: Anyone have details about the room fridge?

Yes, Steph, when we went in Dec I asked for one at check in as Aiden had to finish the last of an antibiotic and the CM told me that it was already in the room as they were standard now in the Mods and Deluxes.
I thought that was pretty cool that they now had them in every room!!

Unless you buy a few of those teeny, teeny, tiny Ben & Jerry's that are $.50 each. They'e like 2 or 3 inches tall. Not much, but nice for a snack. Oooh, I need to take note of that...
