OK, where should I stay next time???
I want to stay on property and in the past three years I have stayed at:
POR- Bayou rooms WL CSR Please give me some suggestions!!! I am a deluxe girl, although as we can tell, I have not stayed at many deluxe resorts yet!!!! Please give me your suggestions and tell me why you liked each hotel (any category is fine)! Also, do you think that the bus trips take a long time to go from place to place? Did you find yourself waiting forever for the bus to that resort at the end of a long day at the parks??? I have two small children, so for now, this seems to be an issue! Thanks! I am secretly planning our next trip, so that when my husband has a weak moment and says that we can go again, I'll be ready!!!!

I think you should try AKL. I have stayed there twice and loved it. It reminds you of WL, but with an African theme and animals!

Definitely AKL, since you've already stayed at my other favorite resort (WL). Request a Savannah view, it's awesome!

If you are a pool lover, you have to try Yacht and Beach Club. Stormalong Bay is incredible, and they are both beautiful resorts. Being able to walk to EPCOT and the Studios is a great perk, too.

I'm gonna vote for the Poly. If you get a lagoon view, its totally beautiful. The entire resort itself is just georgeous. Best of all, you can watch the fireworks at the MK and the Electircal Water Pagent every night!

If I wanted to stay at a Deluxe and had already done WL, I would most likely do AKL. I would save Contemp. for after its upcoming renovation.

I haveto go with Beach Club. The resort is beautiful, the pool is awesome, and you are so close to Epcot and MGM. You also have so many restaurants that are a short walk from your room

Re: OK, where should I stay next time???
With two little ones in tow, I'd definitely go for a resort that's near a park or two, like the Epcot resorts or the Monorail resorts. AKL is beautiful, but you do have to "bus it" everywhere, which can get frustruating; and Savanna rooms cost quite a bit more than standard view rooms. SO, to really answer your question, I'd go with the Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Boardwalk because they're close to both MGM and Epcot (therefore, you don't have to take a bus to either of these resorts), have plenty of dining opportunities within walking distance, and have fun things for kids to do on "non-park" days.

I'll give another vote to the Beach Club.
Can't beat the pool or the great location there.

Re: OK, where should I stay next time???
Stay away from the AKL--the Savannah view isn't a savannah view unless you get lucky, and the buses are terribly long waits compared to other resorts. Go with the Grand Floridian or either the BC or the YC. All are beautiful, and the buses appeared to come about every 20 minutes (which is what they're supposed to be).
We just got back from the AKL and will NEVER stay there again.

We stayed at AKL in a Savannah view room and had a wonderful view. There were three total rooms in our party and we all enjoyed it. Got up early each morning to have coffee on our balcony and see the animals! Buses were a little slow, but not too bad. I would stay at the AKL or Boardwalk! ![]()

Re: OK, where should I stay next time???
Sorry, have to say CBR. Great resort for kids! Tons to do and the theme is beautiful. Each island has it's own pool, beach, playground and laundry facilities. It is a large resort but there is an internal bus if you wind up too far from OPR. There is a food court, gift shop, restaurant, outside bar and main pool at OPR. The best islands to stay are Jamaica, Aruba, Trinidad N. or Martinique (TN & M are preferred room rates). Tons of water activities and Parot Cay island to explore. This resort is very close to MGM, EPCOT, TL, Boardwalk and DTD. We usually rent a car, so I really couldn't tell you much about the buses.

Re: OK, where should I stay next time???
So many different opinions. I have to say that we really enjoyed the AKL. We never had a problem with the bus system. Also, DH and I love the CSR. These two resorts share their bus with no other resort.. To us that's a good thing.
Also, we spend so little time in our room for us it's hard to justify spending alot on the room. Again, only my opinion. Hope you enjoy your stay, wherever it is!! Good Luck!!! JOANN ![]()

CSR Pros and Cons
THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts Centrally located with short rides to the parks Largest hot tub on WDW property Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool 3 quiet pools New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages High speed internet service WiFi available too Free use of the gym Spa Fridge in the room Coffeemaker in the room Iron and ironing board full room service menu 2 arcades beautifully landscaped central air, not a noisey wall unit THE CONS Full size beds (kings size beds are available) one sink IN THE MIDDLE The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it. Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts. Check out my website below |
