I just found out and posted my rant in the other thread, lol. This is horrible! I hope Disney goes back to the way things were.

Re: What's Happening to AP Room Rates??

Wow. I was considering buying an AP for our next trip thinking that with the room discounts, we would do ok and still be able to take another trip. Now, I am back to looking into the 10 Premium MYW ticket. I guess I have a little while to hold tight and see what happens.

Re: What's Happening to AP Room Rates??

If I am already booked and mostly paid for, do I get automatically put in the Best rate program? I have an active AP? I am seriously confused with this new thing. I booked my trip way back in February, so I have the dealine met. I paid almost the entire trip off too....I am really confused! Am I getting a discount or not?

Re: What's Happening to AP Room Rates??

Florida resident rates usually coinside with AP rates. Do you think they will be affected as well?? What if you were already booked for you room before June 17th? Does that make a difference?

You can still get an AP discount!!! Just call very soon or there might not be any room left where you want to go.

Re: What's Happening to AP Room Rates??

The new program ONLY works for bookings at least 120 days in advance. If you already have your reservations complete, you're all set. The biggest problem is the non-refundable deposit part! Can you imagine???

As a 14 out of the last 18 years AP Holder, I am really perplexed and a little po'd. I carefully read the refered to MouseSavers.com web site's information. This had me calling CRO today for clarification on several questions. They could not answer many of my questions.
I am currently holding two AP vouchers, a room only reservation for WL for October 6 thru October 11 and a room only reservation for December 12 through 16 at Pop-Century. Both reservations are standard reservations as no AP discounts were available in May when I made them. I was told that neither of these reservations can be changed to AP rates as AP rates will need to be made on line at disneyworld.com/passholders. Since I'm only 107 days out on the first reservation date it looks like I'm screwed.
How can Disney roll out a new rate program, AP or otherwise, so ill conceived and so full of unanswered questions and issues with the year half gone by. This was not well thought out at all, unless the intenton was to push AP holders towards the DVC. Well, I'm one that has closely looked at the DVC more than once and its not for me. If Disney leaves the AP holders in the lurch as the current information suggests, I for one will give second thoughts to spending my hard earned money at Disney. We have made over 50 trips to WDW and DL over the last 22 years so I guess they already have enough of my money.
As for my two current reservations. I will be changing my October WL reservation to Pop Century and our December trip will be canceled altogether, that is unless Disney fixes this mess quickly.

Re: What's Happening to AP Room Rates??

One thing you can do, Fast Eddie, is still book your trip the old way through one of the Ear-Marked Travel Agents. They can still get you any discount that becomes available, the way they always have.

Re: What's Happening to AP Room Rates??

I agree with everyone here that this is a bit hard to understand. I hope more clarification comes about in a short time.
And this effects so many people too.
Certainly not fan friendly, and disappointing to those of us who have been AP'ers for years.
I wonder if this is an Eisner or Iger move??? Eisner values loyalty to Disney. This move shows none to those who put up an annual fee for an AP. It's very strange indeed.
