As a 14 out of the last 18 years AP Holder, I am really perplexed and a little po'd. I carefully read the referred to MouseSaver.com web site's information. This had me calling CRO for clarification on several questions. They could not answer many of my questions.
I am currently holding two AP vouchers, a room only reservation for WL for October 6 thru October 11 and a room only reservation for December 12 through 16 at Pop-Century. Both reservations are standard reservations as no AP discounts were available in May when I made them. I was told that neither of these reservations can be changed to AP rates as AP rates will need to be made on line at disneyworld.com/passholders. This is a mistruth as you can't log into the passholders site without a valid AP number. Voucher numbers don't work. WHY??? Also, since I'm 105 days out on the first reservation date not the 120 days required, it looks like I'm screwed. How can Disney roll out a new rate program, AP or otherwise, so ill conceived and so full of unanswered questions and issues with the year half gone by. This was not well thought out at all, unless the intention was to eventually do away with the general public AP program or push the AP program towards the DVC members only. Well, I'm one that have closely looked at the DVC more than once and its not for me. If Disney leaves the AP holders in the lurch as the current information suggests, I for one will give second thoughts to going to WDW 2 to 3 time a year as we have been doing for the lasy 20+ years. My family and I have spent lots of our hard earned money at Disney. We have made over 50 trips to WDW and DL over the last 22 years so I guess they already have enough of my money. They will be getting a lot less in the future under this change thats for sure. As for my two current reservations. I will be changing my October WL reservation to Pop Century and our December trip will be canceled altogether, that is unless Disney fixes this mess quickly. __________________ Fast Eddie

Re: Bad News for Annual and Future Passholders
What was misunderstood at the outset of this new program is that this is only one option available to AP holders. It is not the only way to book a room with an AP discount. You can still book it the old way too. It's just unclear what room-only discounts, if any, will be available in the future.

Re: Bad News for Annual and Future Passholders
There is a long thread over at WDWMagic http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=57904 about this topic.
There is a CM who works at reservations and he gives information from the inside. As stated this programme is in addition to the usual way of getting AP discounts. There is only a limited number of dates and room types that are available for the Best Rate Program. So just keep a look out for the AP discounts in the future. An interesting point is that AP discounts are not considered as general public discounts.
