We are going ona Disney Cruise in December with the in-laws. Me, DH the boys (3 & 5 yrs) and sister in law will be gong a few days early. We've been to Values before, with only 4, Can we do 5 in a room? Can we get a cot?

Re: 5 per room at Value?

You can only have 5 in a value if one child is under 3. I think your best bet is to get 2 rooms or book a room at POR. At POR you can have 5 in a room and the rooms are a little bigger.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

I definitely agree with DisneyTeacher on this one. 5 people in a value room is the equivalent to the space in a can of sardines. I recommend you upgrade to a Moderate, bigger room plus nicer hotel!

Re: 5 per room at Value?

You cannot do 5 in a room unless littlest is under 3.
Only options are two rooms or the POR.
We learned from experience.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

The only way to do a room with 5 is if the youngest is under 3. They will not let you book a room for more than 4 people. That being said, you could just leave the youngest one off the ressie and let them sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor. Yes, it is against the rules, but I have seen it done. If you go to POR you can request a room with a trundle bed which doesnt' cost extra and is perfect for little ones.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

Thanks guys. Our youngest is 3. We really wanted to stay at the AS Movies, but now with SIL coming with us we might not be able to. And we are only going for 3 days prior to the cruise. Arg. We'll have to see

Re: 5 per room at Value?

This issue has been our biggest complaint with Disney. Families that are 5 or more are really not given many options that have the budget in mind. POR is really the only place (we really enjoyed it!) I wish Disney would open their eyes to this, but I don't see it happening.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

DIsney's answer to it is the home away from home rooms. But those are major dollars!

Re: 5 per room at Value?

Home Away From Home with 2 or more bedrooms are only economical if you have extended Family staying together and you split the cost. (ex. grandparents) They really need to have a moderately priced room for 6 with a nicely themed resort for larger families.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

Roxie, I agree that families of 5 do not have any options when it comes to the values. Just because you have 5 in your family doesn't mean you can automatically afford a moderate resort. I wish Disney would also open their eyes to this problem.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

I suggest staying at ASmovies and getting the two rooms. Two rooms are great. Two of everything to make morning routines go smoother.

Re: 5 per room at Value?

We are getting 2 rooms at PC this time for that reason, Dana, and luckily we can afford it. I agree that Disney should accomodate 5 in its values. Maybe by giving you a break on the second room if you are all related family members.

I don't think that'll happen.....you can't even do 2 rooms now with an AP discount. Right?

I agree. It's a shame they don't have bigger rooms or a second room discount for larger families. You and your girls are going to LOVE having that second bathroom.
